Check out this video to know how to treat multiple IVF Failures. There are couples who have faced multiple IVF failures. This is distressing for both couples and doctors as well. We plan and try to find each and every nuance but still we fail. Sometimes, we need to rethink the entire schedule and entire treatment protocol and see where the fault lies. We need to use the seed v/s soil theory. When the embryo gets implanted in the endometrium, only then pregnancy occurs. For this, the other factors in the pelvis must be conducive. When, repeated IVF failures occur, we see if there is anything wrong with the embryo. We actually look at the grading of the embryo. There are situations, where the embryo is really good but still IVF fails. In pregenetic screening, we take a small biopsy of a single cell from an embryo, which is grown until day 5. We see whether there is a genetic problem or whether chromosomes are abnormal. This is for diagnosis. It may not improve chances of success. If the embryo is at fault, we may not transfer the embryo. We prevent the patient from facing another failure. Apart from this, we do endometrial receptivity assay.
We mimic a cycle of IVF. We take a small biopsy on the day when we would probably be transferring the embryo. We see whether the endometrium is in sync with the embryo. This gives an idea as to whether it is a good endometrium or not. If the endometrium is not prepared, we get a rough idea as to which day is good for transfer. This increases IVF success chances. Other treatment options are as follows. We give immunoglobulins, suppress the immune capacity of the body so that we improve chances of success of IVF. We give intralipid infusions of fat content into bloodstream to improve quality of implantation. All this is to improve chances of IVF. There are alternative therapies like Ayurveda, acupuncture etc. Patients try all these because they are frustrated by the time they reach that level. It works for some people and does not for some others but there is no harm in trying.
