If Chelsea make, say, a semi final in a 100m tournament against a Real Madrid, and Delap plays well… I promise that will garner more attention from Tuchel than any U21 event. How many absolute stars of U21 England never amount to much at Senior level? I’m sure the list is long.

Ekitike would make no sense. I certainly don’t see him as an upgrade to Jackson, especially not at 84m. Now, where I would disagree with Ben is that in an ideal world Maresca actually like to bring in an extra striker on the last 20 minutes, whether it’s to chase a game or to add to defense and hold up play. He just didn’t really have that option. Then you have CL games, group stages, cup competitions, PL games. If a Gyorkeres or Osimhen came in and was the older, nailed on starter, someone like Delap could still get upwards of 24+ starts, including CL group, plus a ton of other game time. I view Delap as the future England #1, but that would be a team upgrade and possibly an aid to his own development. Those are the only two though. Don’t see anything else as worth even trying as an upgrade. For what Chelsea need, Rodrygo actually seems better than Nico Williams. He’s young enough that 90 seems easy to do.

I think Boehly needs to call up his contacts in Saudi and offer them Jackson. If he goes, that opens the door for us to seriously go after Gyökeres or Osimhen.

Ben if you can please don't let them sign Eketike, Garnacho, Rafael lea and Jamie Gittens. Eketike is not an upgrade for Nico Jackson. He misses lots of clearcut chances. He score 15 goals in his breakout season and its £84ml. Liam Delap alone is not enough he is still developing. Why maresca never favour Gyokeres is beyond me. He is 10 fold better and cost less then Eketike.
