Saw one at a gun show in Dallas in the late 90s for $300. Passed it up because I was a dumbass in my 20s then and was only interested in all the popular "high cap" 9mms. Stupid. Really stupid. I also remember seeing a S&W Model 28 Highway Patrolman for $250 from a law enforcement trade in later that same year. I thought revolvers were "boring" back then and I am so kicking myself now for it.

I happened to get my hands on a Lew Horton 624. How much are they worth? I would probably never sell but was just wondering.

they also came with throated barrels and awesome trigger job.
so even being shorter barrel the accuracy is so awesome
being more the combat carry gun
And the throated barrel spits out the bullet adding velocity not giving up much to the longer barrels.
and N frame design with k frame handle it is superior to the heavier 44 magnum
all the way around .
ten ounces lighter overall the cylinder is lighter too making it way faster than a 44 magnum
so it rolls over faster .
And minus moon clips .
I would call it superior to the 625 for close range ipsca competition.
For I have beat many.
In factory loadings it has less recoil than the 45 auto making it faster in competition.
And the 624 handles the standard Keith loads which ive never chronographed but is a 255 grain
1370 feet per second in a 6 inch barrel .
reaching well into 44 mag territory.
thats actually how I tested the recall on cylinder metal was hammering 200 rounds of it
all day at Ipsca tournament lol.
It pounded plates that day like no one had ever seen before.
Lol
Definately being in my top 2 favorite race guns
I also bevelled the cylinder holes making realy fast reloads

I remember reading a great article about this particular firearm about a dozen years ago. My love of the 44 (special ) and the incredible article, made me daydream about this beauty. Anyone in possession of one should absolutely cherish it, for it is truly Worthy ! Be well...JB

This is probably my favorite S&W revolver. I just won an auction for one last night. It will go well with my 66-2 snubbie.

With Lou Horton Distribution now shut down, how can I find out if my 624 is Lou Horton or not?

Hello, does anybody know if a set of k frame round butt grips will work on the 624 with a 3 inch barrel round butt grips.

I understand it is on the N frame. But they did advertise that gun on the N frame with K frame round butt grips in the 80s. How true is this statement? Wanting to purchase a set an original round butt grips but they are
expensive.
