I still hate how so many people liked bakugo before this. I hated how he was allowed to have friends after tormenting izuku and people liked him. I honestly wanted to watch him fall. This scene was the first time at actually respected bakugo. So many people bully and torment others and don’t have the guts to acknowledge what they did was both wrong and horrible.

It’s crazy. Before this season, I fucking hated this guy to the bone.
Then season 4 and 5 hit and I was like
“Aii, I can relate to you bc I’m competitive as I am passionate. But I still hate you.”
And then this season…..
And then This Scene hit…

Holy fucking hell. Did I go through my own character development? This is the same feeling I had with Zuko.

This whole relationship pisses me off. It just screams toxic. I’m glad he said he’d back him up but why the fuck deku forgive him for all that past shit. “Oh sorry deku you where just screaming big dick energy so I got mad at you sorry for bullying since elementary and almost killing you a couple times.” FUCK OFF BAKUGO

Bakugou apology is good but still dissapointing not because of it but what came after that. When they return to UA, the civilians were againts deku return and deku seem ready to leave. Bakugou did nothing and only ochako speechs that not persuades the civilians to accept deku and ultimately the one who actually saves deku.

And also bakugo was sidelined after his apology, he has no role until his fight with shirigaki.

Bakugo apology would be more satisfaying if he and deku have another conversation in UA where they officaly settle their difference but alas they never have any interaction after that. Compare that to ochaco who has a heartfelt talk with deku in the final arc.

I remember when Izuku told Kirishima Bakugo would only come to them if it's his friend who called to him. Now it's Izuku wont go back to UA for nothing.
Bakugo gets character development and apologized with a sincere apology and called Izuku by name instead of Deku. Even after class 1A failed in the persuasions it took Izuku's bully to get him to finally come home.❤️‍🩹😌

This apology always felt so hollow and fake to me. Even when I read it in the manga when it came out it just feels a bully dumping his issues on his victim. This may have been more compelling if Deku ever addressed how Bakugo's bullying made him feel.

The Flame's of Hope and Just Smile from Sonic 06 fits perfectly on this scene I think.

First time he called Midoriya by his actually name,that's how you know this is ernest...

When people say it doesnt justify what he did when bakugou apologize....he wasnt attempting to do that. He isnt asking for forgivness or trying to force it. Hence why he said "saying this doesnt change a thing".he knows he was a piece of shit to izuku. And saying sorry wont change that. But it can be the first step to a prospering friendship. We need to understand that you can grow into a better person if you give yourself that chance. If you can apologize without being asked to with sincerity and determination even when you know it wont make a difference then you are on the path to being a decent human being.

despite this great development the line where he says to jump out off a building is why I'll never like Bakugo as a character...
