This is a good example but say if there is a small company is it better to have vlans setup on layer3 switch and dhcp server function on that L3 switch or server and let the router do only routing to the internet to make traffic faster and not go to router and back?

What is the reason for taking two bits in the last octet? Three bits could have been taken here. Please explain it a little. I don't understand 🙂🙂
