reminds me of old legends of shamans who practice dark magic and take the form of an animal and acquire its traits. we see people crawling on all fours, jumping and leaping like cats and dogs, these people snarling and barking. i dunno how other people think it should be normalized, but when i see a grown man or woman on all fours making animal noises, i am filled with a primal fear.

I was into the whole therian thing before, and I do actually think it’s some subconscious coping mechanism/trauma response, because I only behaved that way and truly thought I was spiritually an animal when I was going through psychological warfare with myself and my identity (I have BPD and probably a bunch of other undiagnosed shit) As I began to realize that I was NOT in fact a spiritual animal, I still engaged in quads and gear making for the imaginative play/fun aspect of it, because it felt more just like a comforting sport and art for me at that point. But it can be unhealthy if taken too far, and I think the community is an echo chamber of various problems that should be addressed, especially the ones on TikTok. I do not identify with them or their community to any capacity any longer and while I don’t see an issue so long as it is practiced in a healthy way in one’s own time, I think that filming these videos and posting them, or doing this publicly is just such a strange and sad way to seek attention, and these people probably do need help, or time to mature. Coping mechanisms like this is not something to be proud of and express so openly, do it in secret until you can transition out of it ❤

clearing false rumors:
therian/otherkins/furrys dont use litter boxes, nor do most therians bark and meow at people. and therians/otherkins/furrys zoophiles, zoophiles are gross and disgusting

reminder being a furry is a choice and just a hobby. while being therian and otherkin isnt a choice. dont spread misinformation. and none of this is a mental disorder (unless your actually think your an animal, in witch case, please get help) and no its not used for escapism. people have many theorys to why people are therians but no one really knows why it happens. personally, as a therian and maybe otherkin, i would NEVER for the life of me get surgery cause it can be dangerous.
