I think what you forgot here is - 6. Utilize the 3 trials and re-record if you think your answers are not enough. By utilizing the 3 re-record trials, you'll have a great opportunity to improve your responses and present yourself in the best light. LOL

Job interviews are already stressful as they are.. but online makes it even harder and I've never gotten a call back after a zoom interview, because I get extremely nervous. I hope this doesn't become a thing for all companies.

One can only wonder what they do with your recorded interviews afterwards...

Vast majority of the time, employers won't bother informing you if you're unsuccessful, let alone specifics (ie failing video interview).

I believe video interviews are great for pre screening purposes, but certainly should not act as a replacement for face-to-face with the employer directly.

I had a similar interview today. It was horrible. I kept messing up, and couldn’t start over. It already saved my responses.
It’s actually harder than in person interviews. There’s no person to person chemistry. It sucks

The biggest mistake is agreeing to do one. There are plenty of companies that don’t use this technique. I’ll happily end the process with that company uses hirevue and work for one that doesn’t.

I've recently gotten to this part in applying with Nike. Seems like such a half assed way of conducting an "interview" . Genuinely made me not interested.

Modern day application processes just treat us as machines. No attempt to see us as people. Just do a test, answer a question to a screen and you might have a chance to go through some more tests where we judge you and provide minimal feedback. All just to be a cog in the machine. It is what it is I guess.

first apply as fake. get he questions recorded on your phone. Use someone elses hardware. then prepare. then take the interview. they took years knventing dumb algos to screw you. You can take a second to screw them

There's only one mistake you need to avoid, and that's submitting yourself to this dehumanizing, degrading process. HireVue is a disgusting company, as are the disingenuous founders..... So, the employer can't even trouble themselves with an in-person video interview? Never do this. The moment they mention HireVue, withdrawal your application. And let them know why.

I thought that The Cleveland Clinic was so impressed with my resume detailing my 28-year nursing career that's why they sent me a request for an interview so quickly. Then I googled "what is hire view.l' Now I'm slightly offended.

These things are so rude, disrespectful, & disadvantageous. If you cant take 15 minutes to speak with me, we don't have the same ethics & I'm not interested in you. Unfortunately I've turned down interviews at Progre$$ive !n$, H€B, & Un!t€d H€@thc@r€ because of this crap. Heads up for ppl looking at those places.

Number 1 mistake for one-way video interviews: Doing the video interview.

I feel like recorded video interviews are harder than in person. It’s tough sounding natural when you’re not really talking to anyone, and you get no feedback for how you’re doing. Your advice is very good!

Just had one of these to do for the first time, and I think I bombed it. :( I was SO nervous! Idk what it is, but recording myself responding to questions from a computer just feels sooo unnatural. I feel like I did really badly, and it's a shame too because it was for a position at a company that I REALLY wanted to work at. I kind of wish I had just had a Zoom interview, or even an in-person interview instead! I prefer interviews that are more like conversations and don't make you feel so uncomfortable. :(

I guess my anxiety got the best of me today. :(

Getting your distance right is important, you covered that by saying to do the test question which I delft will do - you do t want your head filling the whole screen and looking up your nose like it does when I use my iPad.

I don't think we should try to convince the bot of anything. We should just say no to that kind of dystopian BS. I just declined an interview with a big consulting company and withdrew my application when I saw that they were using Hirevue.
