How many clinical hours did you have when applying?
Ответитьhi! did you take a gap year for your mcat? Does applying without a gap year hurt your chances?
ОтветитьOMG Leandra Idek u used to be in Medical Scholars Program! I’ve been in it since Fall 2021 as a first yr and now I’ll be coming into my 2nd yr as a peer mentor. So cool that you were involved in the leadership aspect in MSP as well, and I hope u had fun in it just as much as I am rn! I will be one of the youngest peer mentors in the MSP team so what are some tips you’d recommend to someone in my shoes rn as I’m a bit nervous being vv young and will be mentoring ppl who may be older or on the same age as me
ОтветитьHi! Congratulations on your achievements! I had a question about you choosing UC Riverside. Were you scared that med schools would potentially discriminate against you or not consider your application as seriously because UCR is not as highly rated as some other schools, or do med schools not consider the institution that you went to as seriously?
ОтветитьHi Leandra, did you publish any papers?
ОтветитьDid you get into UCR’s med school as well? If so what made you decide to go to Kaiser’s med school over UCR’s or other’s instead?
ОтветитьHey Leandra, incoming freshie here for UCR undergrad. I've been doing a bunch of research over the past few weeks and have most of my things planned out, but I can't really find many good orgs for nonclinical volunteering. What did you do for nonclinical volunteering and do you still remember any of the good orgs for that in UCR?
ОтветитьHello! How soon did you start volunteering at a hospital? Also how soon would you suggest that I start my clinical experience?
Ответитьwhose side???
ОтветитьSo true on the major front. You can definitely major in whatever you like as long as you take all the pemed reqs. I appreciate how you share that the application is an individualized process so each student should accurately convey their strengths holistically. Great content!
ОтветитьThis pandemic has killed all of my opportunities to join more clubs and be more involved, shadowing, etc. only got to be on campus 1 semester RIP 😢
ОтветитьThe Fee Assistance Program only helps a little...so how would you endure four years of medical school and paying the rent each month? Can you help me out and tell me how it is you are paying the rent portion? That I would really like to know. From parents?

ОтветитьHello Leandra! I've been following your vlogs ever since and it's a huge help to me <333 I'm a college freshman from the philippines and hoping to get into Kaiser for my medschool, ILYSMM!!
ОтветитьI’m a freshman neuro major and I’m pre med. I’m scared cause I feel behind. I’m now just taking gen chem and intro to bio spring semester. Before junior, I wanna take the classes to study for mcat and I still would have to do physics, another semester of gen chem and bio, biochem, organic chem😬😬
ОтветитьHi, is studying the premed hard? compare to non-premed.
ОтветитьDid u get accepted to Columbia vagelos? Can you also talk about the scientific research you did in undergrad and how we can get involved in research? Great video by the way!
ОтветитьDo you recommend UCR honors college for premed students
ОтветитьWhat are the courses required for med school?
ОтветитьWe should start including socio economic status into these videos, considering how much your success is dictated by your parent’s net worth.
ОтветитьSpeaking for myself and my best friend. We are both Board Certified Anesthesiologists. I guess our entrance into Medical School was easy and simple including our residency. Well, we grew up with doctors all of our lives as children. That how we got in. Plus, we all lived in the same neighborhood here in Bel Air and Bevely Hills. I never had a standard MCAT Score with a 3.2 GPA. Plus, both of our interviews took less that 7 minutes. But we did study like crazy though.
ОтветитьGonna be honest I'm really worried about getting valuable experience during COVID19. I'm in my second year and I've gotten involved with a lab and have a few more volunteer opportunities, but I'm not really sure what to do next since no hospitals are taking on real in person volunteers
ОтветитьHi Leandra, thank you so much for this video! I really found the tips to be very helpful and this gave me more confidence to continue to work on my journey to medical school
ОтветитьI have clinical experience since sophmore year but i have a hard time finding shadowing postions due to the current circumstances. I am applying for next year so does clinical counts as shadowing somewhat?
ОтветитьHi Leandra, I am currently completing the supplemental application for KP SOM. Do you think you could help with one of the questions on the application? I just need some ideas to answer the question :)
Ответитьone question Leandra, do med school take into consideration of how prestigious your undergrad program is? I planned to go to Case Western which is known for unfavourable grading or should I just go to state school for easier grade instead?
Ответитьbest inspiration for me as a upcoming senior in high school, thank you so much!
Ответитьthank you so much for this!! i’m entering my senior year of high school so i’m starting to think about how to make the best of my pre med years :) good luck in medical school!
ОтветитьVery helpful video, very articulate and very pretty😄
Ответитьyou are literally my inspiration.
ОтветитьHi! So you mentioned you took Biochem before the MCAT was it elementary biochem or general biochem? Thank you for these videos.
ОтветитьGreat video! Congrats!
ОтветитьHi! Where did you end up choosing for med school?
ОтветитьThis was so helpful! I'm applying to medical schools right now, keep up the great work!
ОтветитьWow! This is what I needed so much right now! Thank you so much. I am so proud of you. New subscriber here. ❤️
Ответитьwow!
Ответитьcan you make a video about how you were able to have a 4.0 GPA as a premed student? like studying strategies and that stuff? thanks(:
ОтветитьCongrats on an amazing app cycle! I'll be an incoming ms1 as well and I definitely resonate with all these tips! Wish these were all things I had known as I made my way through undergrad. Nonetheless, best of luck to you as you start and excited to follow your journey :)
ОтветитьCan you tell us more about Kaiser since it is brand new
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! Congratulations:) I was wondering if you would be open to reading my personal statement for feedback?
ОтветитьHi, I'm an incoming first year Biology major at UCR and I'm interested in knowing what study habits you adopted to help you get your grades and MCAT score. Also, looking back, did it feel like research opportunities were readily available or were they more selective/ harder for first and second years?
ОтветитьHello, I'm an incoming biochemistry transfer to UCR. Were there any particular programs that stood out to you for premed students and were you involved in research?
ОтветитьWill you do a medical school reveal
ОтветитьWow, you had amazing stats :) Can't wait for the med school review video!
ОтветитьCongrats on such an amazing application cycle, Leandra! I can't wait to follow your journey :-)
ОтветитьCongratulations on your accomplishments! I’m so happy that I came across this video! I’m about to start as a freshman at UC Davis in the fall and this video really helped me out! Thank you so much for the content! I can’t wait to see more videos!
ОтветитьLeandra! It is so crazy to hear all the accomplishments you've achieved throughout undergrad. I distinctly remember always seeing you at the gym freshman year because I was one of the only few other girls at the weightlifting area alongside you. Bummer that we never got to connect in person, but I'm glad the internet is a very inter-connected place haha. Really big congrats on all your med school acceptances and thank you for representing us Highlanders well!
Ответитьyou are so genuine and your content is so helpful! can you please make a video on how you studied for the MCAT?
ОтветитьAbsolute unit 🤯🤧😤. I'm an incoming MS1 in Texas. Great job!
ОтветитьCan you make a specific extracurricular video? Also what medical school will you be going to?
Ответить
