Death trap, has no ability to recover from vortex ring state flip , which will happen in a single engine failure. No autorotation capability and no glide capability.

The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is a death trap. Development started in the 70's and after 50 years it was completed. Or was it? Boeing invested millions into the project, what the death of several marines' matter to Boeing stock?

An amazing piece of engineering, very versatile. A good tool for the U.S. military to conduct operations on several different missions.

With the American citizen getting dumber and dumber with every generation, (Thank you Democrats for that one.) it was just a matter of time before new pilots would be wrecking these aircraft just out of shear blind stupidity.

True "multi-tool" aircraft. I'm a bit surprised that the US Coast Guard doesn't have some of these in their inventory. I'd think it'd be a tremendous search and rescue platform.

One of my favourite aircraft. I wish the UK would buy them. I love the distinctive sound they make as well. You know what's coming long before you see them, and I very often have them fly over my house, on their way to Holbeach Ranges or on their way back to RAF Mildenhall or exercising at RAF Sculthorpe. Fantastic aircraft.

they probably have an AV-22 variant with an m61 vulcan turret we don't know about but all wish for. or hell, they should make a totally new aircraft thats basically a VTOL A10 warthog.

They seem to be a very good idea but need to be handled by exceptional pilots . Why is there no rotary blade on the tail to give better stability ?

Back when they were tendering out the designs of a half airplane half helicopter, both Bell and Boeing contacted me and asked me to be team leader in design. I don't know how it happened but i think they must have infiltrated my kindergarten and found the drawings that i was doing during art time.

During my time in the military and as a contractor afterwards I've flown on just about every type of aircraft that there is that carries passengers... except this thing. I was trying to get out of a FOB in Afghanistan one time and the only thing leaving that day in my direction was an Osprey. I told them I'll try again the next day. Not setting foot on that rattlecan deathtrap voluntarily.

I'm really surprised that nobody ever Experimented with a "Jet Propelled Version" of the Osprey, or I never heard of it...
Be nice to see if it would actually work!
Or even a 4-Rotor "Bi-Lateral Winged" Version that would completely replace the Chinook Twin-Rotor Heavy Lifter the Armed Forces currently operate.

They should stop calling those sentenced to ride these occupants or passengers and start calling them victims or casualties to be. These things crash far too often.

I see Ospreys coming and going from MCAS Futema in Okinawa, Japan.
I appreciate the fact that you speak English clearly, correctly, articulately. Some other "news" videos tell us how a Russian ship was "shot down" and seem to have no idea what the name of a specific aircraft is, or how it should be stated. Good work.
Nicely done. Well spoken. (You get the idea.)

BUT, they are quick... i'll give them that.

I am a bit disappointed by this video compared to the usually high standard of the Dark Skies series. Given that it starts with the vary sad driver of the Iran rescue fiasco it is surprising that it becomes a hagiography of one of the most unreliable aircraft operated anywhere by anybody. Thankfully the Osprey doesn't drop out of the sky anymore but it still has a lot of problems with getting airborne and I doubt that post Iran US planners really wanted a grunt that had the serviceability overheads of a state of the art fighter.
