You can skip the thread locker. I learned after my 3rd year of using 8020 that the design of the tnuts removes the need for it

Not enough measurement on the assembly. You’re supposed to use the guide blocks along the length of the linear rail to prevent sagging. Also, you need to check squareness, levelness etc.

Dude this is one sick as heck CNC MACHINE.. I had to use caps bcos it blew me away watching this video bro.. How much does one of these bad boys set me back if I want to get one and do AVID do a smaller version like a 4'x4' or something like that. My shop is only 16x10 feet so I don't have the space. I'm in the midst of getting ready to take a shot at building my own DIY CNC Router. I wish I'd just bought one outa the box but now I've spent the money on all the bits and bobs I'm going to have to build it soon. I'm a newbie, complete newbie to CNC machines and the electronics is scaring the hell outa me bro..
How much does one of these big CNC's set me back if I want to get one?? Please tell us the price so I can look to rainignthe money ASAP?? I hate going into these sites bcos u can never just find the price.. U have to enquire about the cost and I hate that so if u don't mind could u let me know what it costs for one of these bad boys.. Is the software really that simple? I have already got some great ideas from ur X & Z Axis on the mounting side of things.. The aluminium ios awesome on this Avid machine too btw.. Salute from IRELAND!

This is an interesting way to setup the geometry of the machine. How about a caliper instead of a measuring tape? For trimming the spindle you usually use a dial gauge.

Nice build. 4x8 is common table size in the CNC router world though. Not sure if I'd call it "HUGE"...

Hey man i know this is an old video but did you have any issues with your liner rails on the sides binding the bearings at the seams? One side of my machine the rails have a really noticable bump as they pass over the seams actually stopping the bearing when i move them by hand

Hi, maybe stupid question but would it be possible to fit the pro4896 in a tight space so the only access is from one lenght side. Or do you need access to all around the machine

You've done very well with the setup. Looks great but your feed and speeds are way off. Feed is too slow, spindle speed too high. You'll end up burning your bits.

nice vid. looks like a nice rig. after checking your link, they are heavily overpriced. just the 4 nema / driver kit is $3k. you can get a stepcraft q408 completely built and delivered for $15k. after i saw the $3k they want for $600 worth of steppers i quit considering it. It is a nice rig either way and i wouldnt mind putting it together if it actually saved me money.

God bless you guys who actually do the videoing of the build process. I’m the type to be more inclined to just build any project than worry about videoing/editing & posting! 😂 I’m in the process of building my second woodworking shop. We just moved to a 10 acre place on a mountain. So I’m dividing a 36’x40’ 4-car garage in half and adding an additional 10’x20’ room off the back. About 920 sq ft of shop when I’m finished. Where’s my video camera? Not! Good luck with your CNC! LOOKS FABULOUS!

If it was me i would somehow single handedly take down my regions power grid and all the surrounding ones too.

I’m about to get my Avid CNC next week. So, I rewatched your video. I have a quick question(s). I also got a Dust Right 1250 collector. I was planning on running a 6” flex hose. How is the 4” working for you? Do you think the 6” would do better? Thanks for the advise.
