It's pitty you guys had the "san worm" (Chả rươi) the wrong way. Totally destroyed the worm. It's should be fried with eggs and a little bit of mandarin's skin (I mean the cover layer)

those aren't donuts. they're called Banh Cam (not orange cake:) and the filling is Mung beans. Vietnamese pastries and deserts use quite a bit of different types of beans.

He uses the same word I use to describe Viet food, "simple".... I would also add healthy.

you need to dip those rolls with the sauce given... different sauce in different area.... looks like they gave you fish sauce? In middle VN areas, like Da Nang, Hue, Nha Trang, they eat with some peanut sauce....
