Crows Make Short Work of Abandoned Suet Cake

Something a little different for your Friday!

This was filmed a fee weeks ago, when my super smart, super sweet Pilot led me to a pre-roost location totally off of his normal route, and much to my surprise and delight! I suppose he likes crows, too.

I had been carefully feeding this group (there were probably at least a hundred in the surrounding trees and wires) when one of them discovered a suet cake by the roadside. I don’t know how it got there, but I am guessing by a crow who dislodged it from its case and then dropped it because it was too heavy. I kept watch while they mobbed the thing in case any cars came by.
