She must have been a favorite of Dean Jones as well as Walt Disney, as they co-starred in 3 Disney films together, the last being The Shaggy D.A., one of my all-time favorites in the Disney category. Also hilarious in the James Garner western comedy Support Your Local Gunfighter as the trigger happy, ironically named character Patience! And I agree with others here that the Newhart finale scene was perhaps the most brilliant ending in TV history. The best line was as Bob Newhart is going back to sleep, he says to her, "You know Emily, you should wear more sweaters!" in reference to his sweater loving wife from that show.

The only downside to the Newhart finale is that it seems to overshadow how funny the entire series was as a whole. Watch the first season episode, "I Enjoy Being a Guy" (especially the poker scene) for some hilarious moments.

The Newhart ending was hands down the best ending in TV history. The entire show being just a crazy dream and having Suzanne waking up in bed with him was pure brilliance.

HI Dave
I've gotta say, although it's clever, the Newhart finale did a disservice to the ensemble cast that made the show work

I always liked her. One story I remember about her is that Newhart was always trying to "protect" children in the audience from her language, but it was Marcia Wallace who dropped an F-bomb on set.

Not too long ago I saw the first episode/ pilot movie for The wild, wild, Wild West and the cast was top notch….

Suzanne was on it, as well as Nehemiah Persoff, James Greggory and Victor Buono…..

It was an excellent show but ended too soon because it was considered too violent….

Suzanne was as pretty as ever in that pilot…..

Walt Disney died when I was in Elementary School he always tried to keep the Disney movies wholesome. I remember Suzanne Pleshette seeing her in movies. Some months ago I remember seeing her on one of the episodes of the
Invaders. You couldn't think that something that beautiful was one of the space aliens. She developed a friendship with David the alien hunter and was going to provide more info on the aliens. At the end some ex sheriff shot her on account she killed the sheriff's wife. She began vanishing but was crying out to David and I thought they were a good couple. She was a very beautiful woman because I have a step sister that no longer lives here in the country. She looks a bit like Suzanne Pleshette and anyone that looks like her has to be beautiful.

I'm glad that Walt didn't make her cry the way I thought he did by looking at the thumbnail. This made it a nice story even though the premonition becoming reality was what upset her. It had to be hard for her not to believe that she didn't make it happen.

Aka Jerry Gillespie. Suzanne Pleshette prior to Bob Newhart Show was a good actress in both comedic and dramatic roles. I for some reason remember her dramatic roles more than the comedic Disney type roles

Dave have you ever heard the story that Suzanne herself came up with the idea of turning MGM Studios' lots into a theme park? I hear no one supported her idea, but some joker took said idea and ran with it ... and used it to help create the Universal Studios theme park!
