This guys sounds like Nic Cage explaining a transmission 😂 . Same voice 🤯
ОтветитьYou should never use a punch to install a bearing or use a hammer on a metal shaft to knock bearing loose. The correct way is to use a pipe long enough to be above the shaft and that will fit the inner sleeve of the bearing or simply use a press. Even professionals can get it wrong. You should never take chances of destroying the bearings or other metal parts fore they are not cheap. The only time a hammer is needed is to remove pins that's it. It's good thing Eric offered a rag or he would have stuck part in vice with no protection. Thanks Eric for exposing him on his work.
ОтветитьGlad to see Paul on this job!. I recently ordered a Hurst Comp Plus shifter from Paul with his personal modifications. He did an awsome job and the shifter works perfect. Most important he was honest with me and did what he said he was going to do. That is worth everthing in today's world.
ОтветитьGreat video! Is there any difference between the Tremec T5 and the Borg Warner T5 that came in my 1985 Jeep CJ7? Will this & his manual cover the details of my T5?
ОтветитьWas using this video to tear down the t5 in my 00 v6 and the input shaft needle bearings are completely mangled
ОтветитьEric...let the man teach us....
ОтветитьWhy there are sealed bearings in some manual gearboxes? Like oil is not enough or what? Weird...
Ответитьhey Guys, really cool video. there is a big problem, unfortunately T5 cluster support plate not available to order to Europe. Does anyone have a mechanical drawing or CAD files to do it for myself?
ОтветитьI just bought a firebird with a t5
Ответить👍🏽 Fantastic channel-as a mechanical engineer who has worked in the auto sector and once contemplating a sales job for specialized gear design software .This is hugely educational. Thank you Paul & Eric.
ОтветитьDo one of these with the Mt82.
ОтветитьPaul was looking at your 2016 tear down of a T5 and you mention an anchor spring which is part of the reverse gear system. Is it the same on the NWC T5 to have this anchor spring? I did not see one in your recent tear down of NWC T5 nor was there one mentioned? I have the spring that mounts on the reverse fork and to the rear of the case for my NWC T5. Are both springs required?
ОтветитьThis guy is a genius
ОтветитьDo you rebuild transmissions?
ОтветитьDo you rebuild transmission's? Hi I was called
ОтветитьFirst off, Paul You have a double in Mexico. Let me know if you want to see him.
Second I have to drink a full litter of corona especial to understand the entire video. But I did it. Love the video.
Third: Thanks so much for sharing the information, am sure more than one shop it is mad for doing this video. I learn more in this video today than what I learn in the last 20 years of my life.
Keep doing that great work, if you ever come to Mexico let me know.
Long life to both of you!
QUESTIONS:
#1 WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN T5 & T56 ??
#2 WHERE CAN YOU GET "UPGRADED"
PARTS ??
I OWN A 95' COBRA , 5.0
NEEDS WORK
Has anyone pointed out the reverse gear with synchro came on the 93 cobra?
ОтветитьEric thank you for posting this video. You and Paul did an excellent job of explaining everything. Because you have this video up I am going to save myself $800 and rebuild my own T5. Thank you.
ОтветитьT5 a Ford tranny thing I'm debating rebuilding my z24 Nissan Hardbody
ОтветитьBonza
ОтветитьWow this guy is really knowledgeable
ОтветитьThere is nothing wrong with using rtv as long as you kniw how to use it most ppl put so much is wen it becomes a priblem the tiniest smear on the surface is all you need to seal
ОтветитьI'm so glad I took the risk on this video! I thought it'd be a little over my head, but his explanations were super easy to follow and I really appreciated the occasional questions that helped clear up a few questions for me .
Thanks a LOT guys!!!
Who stayed for the depth despite likely never needing t5 specific knowledge?
Ответитьboooooooooooooooooooooo
ОтветитьNot exactly a dynamic duo, Everytime Eric tried to read ahead And infer the next step he'd get met with a "..no" lol. I respect Paul's knowledge about tranny's I've wanted a lot of his videos in the quest to change my worn synchro. He certainly didn't seem intimidated lol, whoever said that may have had more crack than usual, so you can't blame him.
Sometimes two different personalities make for great entertainment but I'm not sure these two fit that bill.
"That's the whole point of doing a rebuild , to rebuild it" hahahahahaha
ОтветитьManual tranny expert keeps pronouncing DEXRON with a T. My god...
ОтветитьMaan! There guys are cold beast. I am motivated to take out my transmission and tear it apart for the fun of it.
ОтветитьPAUL REALLY KNOWS HIS SHIT, I WATCHED ALOT OF HIS VIDEOS, GREAT VIDEO GUYS
ОтветитьI’m really watching this thinking I will rebuild my transmission knowing damm well this is hard.
ОтветитьEric can the shift lever/and spring/ball be removed without removing the tail shaft? I think my spring /ball gave up in a older s10.
Ответитьthis dude is a t5 magician. he makes EVERY LITTLE PART LOOK SO EASY
ОтветитьAnyone know where i can get a Reverse return spring?
ОтветитьI get the impression Paul has done more than one of these rebuilds. The more I watched this the more I came to the realization that If I took this thing apart I'd never get it back together correctly and it would be best if I just dropped it off with him and had him do it. I'll bet he could reassemble this thing with his eyes closed.
ОтветитьI lost track of how many times I heard Paul say "lot of people don't realize" after like 39 times lol. Like a lot of people don't realize this guy knows a lot about what he's doing, and likes to point out that others don't lol. I say this with humor.
Great video though. I really do enjoy the content from both of these guy's channels. Good information, and absolutely great instruction on the "how to", and how to do it the right way. Love it
Do I need the press for some parts
ОтветитьHey gearboxvideo do you still sell the gm wc t5 rebuild kit? It has said sold out for a while
ОтветитьWhen your finally done doing it at home, turn back around and find theres still few parts that somehow still siting on another table you totally forgot about
😐🔫
Whats a T-5 ?
ОтветитьCame here form part 3 of the rebuild for the hydraulic bell housing, because he said its would be a good watch.
ОтветитьHe's kinda one of those cutoff speakers tho 😂Every time it's ,"Hold my beer".
ОтветитьAh,learning you are Eric..That's awesome that he's cool enough to not mind help on his show,it's just transmission is a whole other trade
Ответитьstate of art
Ответитьok I hate to post negative things but I can't stop myself....Paul "the expert" within 16 minuets has called 5th gear reverse.. reverse is the straight cut gear on the inside...
ОтветитьWhere do i but internal parts for this trans cause my reverse and 5th gear are a bit shot out
Ответить
