More than 12 million people ride 14,000 trains across India daily, traveling on 64,000 kilometers (40,000 miles) of track. Despite government efforts to improve rail safety, several hundred accidents happen annually on India's railways. Most are blamed on human error or outdated signaling equipment.

India's deadliest rail accident was the 1981 Bihar train derailment (750+ killed), followed by the 1995 Firozabad rail disaster (358 killed), the 2023 Odisha train collision (296 killed), the 1999 Gaisal train disaster (285 killed), the 1998 Khanna rail disaster (212 killed), the 2002 Rafiganj train wreck (200 killed), the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone causing Pamban Bridge accident (150+ killed) and the 2010 Jnaneswari Express train derailment (148 killed).

Govt should have make a flyover at this crossing, for the safety of the people.
