Opening scene- wind blast tests. Many of the crews on board the outer rim later died from radiation- they hadn't gotten a full handle on that notion when the tests were done.
The impact of radiation was figured out after a few surprising expirations.
Is this a true story?
ОтветитьI love old B movies. You got excitement and mystery at every turn. And if you weren't watching you might learn something.
ОтветитьLiving under the earth is exactly what the criminals who intent to use a bombs have planned
for themselves to escape the distruction wrough by their own hands.
5 of the woke people didn't make it.
Ответитьusing the word "feminist" in 1951 to describe an attractive blonde.....wow!
ОтветитьWhat an incredibly TERRIBLE movie. A Sci-Fi film with absolutely ZERO "Sci", all "Fi"... and such terrible "Fi"...
ОтветитьLooks like they're driving an old Merc.
ОтветитьI'm wondering how they got that huge machine to fit is such a small hole drilled by that very, small rock drill. And where does all that light come from?
ОтветитьWhen I was a kid I wanted my own Mole Machine
Ответитьvery very peda movie 👎💯👎👎
ОтветитьMorley was the Algore of the black and white age of science fiction.
ОтветитьAnd now I see where the writers of the popular game fallout got their idea. The beginning was almost the menu for vault tech.
ОтветитьFor 1951, this is fantastic sci fi.
ОтветитьThats what Cadillack built in the 50/60s. Hype said , you can take this anywere . To big for Walmart carparks but cool to vacation at Earth centre. Unfortunately never got production line !!. 😮😅😂 These sci-fi s are great. Why do they always start with the magic mushroom ?. Regards to subscibers and your goodselves. Dave
Ответить"Joan Lindsey, medical doctor and ardent feminist..." falls in love 💕
I guess she wasn't as ardent as she thought .
Every time I see this movie, I want a turkey sam’ich…!
Ответитьgreat film wonderful quality for the age of it.
ОтветитьBoring! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ОтветитьMickey Myers is on the Wardrobe here. Old hand and In for a treat here.
ОтветитьStill interesting to watch and enjoy❤❤
ОтветитьWhile we look back at these older movies and how simple they were I think it is that that simpleness that makes them so enjoyable so many years later. The movie is all about each character losing hope for life and finding it renewed. No long complex dialog, no sex, no graphic violence needed just basic acting and simple props, it works. Unlike the productions today where everything tries so desperately to one up the previous movie with more flash I appreciate these movies and find them much more relaxing to watch.
ОтветитьHorrible sound, squeaks like mad. Terrible upload.
ОтветитьIncredibly dumb move. But, I like it anyway. Made the year I was born.
ОтветитьIn this subterranean exploration movie, there are no Deros or much of anything else living deep down in the Earth. All of the crew's casualties result from quirks of geophysics. No tribesmen or creatures attack the crew. This is just as tedious as it sounds.
As the movie explicitly states, the only thing down there is a world full of resources.
Lots and lots of resources.
One of the heroes is a billionaire's son, who invests in the drilling project (implicit subtext : it's only natural that he owns the machines and all future science deriving from their use). At one point, he jokingly predicts a real estate boom. Yeah, capitalism is so funny. I'm sure it was a relief to the audience that humanity would be taking its chains and its crypto-caste, er, class system along with it.
If future science can't even free us from wage slavery, it can't do much, can it ?
If there's a lesson in this movie, it's in the way that the movie uses scientific idealism as a tool in popular mystification. The movie thus becomes a capitalist tract.
In fact, the movie's prediction of humanity's thermonuclear extinction is thus rendered the only bright spot in the whole freakin' mess - but that's temporary, since the rain of H-bombs would destroy the entire ecosphere.
Remember the movie “The Core”?
Ответитьi love these old movies thanks for posting
ОтветитьCompared to our technology today we have advanced but this is a movie with the past amusement!
ОтветитьI will always love black and white classic movies it's raw,,
ОтветитьSo the Tuesday night bowling team decided to make a sci fi movie, starring themselves and a hired girl. They must have been rich because a movie like this costs several hundreds of dollars to make.
ОтветитьThanks for this good ol flick. I LIKE ALL THESE OL SIFI FLICKS.
ОтветитьFukushima!!! Is still not repaired.
ОтветитьThese vintage movies are great! Nobody on cell phones or laptops. And I love how the men all wore suits ...and ladies were classier.
ОтветитьTo make the scientific eggheads appear smarter, they always had them smoking pipes. Never cigars.
ОтветитьWhile I'm aware that the viewing audience was much less knowledgeable in those days, this movie is just ridiculously poor. I'm a child of that age and have seen better , far better, even at the time.
ОтветитьEarly slant six ?no problem !🤣
ОтветитьHas to be gas .no charging stations in center of earth ..
Early fundraiser .make america great again funding !
Just got to save the white folks 😂😂
Ответитьaudio has a high-pitched squeal (like a far-away radio station)
ОтветитьNot real bad. I couldn't help but wonder why their batteries didn't run down. Nobody mentioned the drive mechanisms or source of power for the craft that, supposedly, ran, probably 10,000, or more, miles to make it over 1600 miles below sea level, or the surface of the Earth. It also, apparently, after sinking, was under 2500 miles of water, with the water pressure at about 6,000,000 pounds per square inch. I don't think that would have worked very well for the craft, or its occupants. Just saying.
ОтветитьThe greatest movie ever made.
ОтветитьLook Professor,..we're saved..!,..its Gilligan's Island..! (12:15AM, 04/11/24)..
ОтветитьToss this on the plan 9 bin
ОтветитьThey should have known to take extra water depending on the timeframe there!
ОтветитьThey say gas Grass so ass! Nobody rides for free!
Ответитьterrible acting except for Marilyn....
ОтветитьOkay, I've changed my mind. I like that character.
ОтветитьOkay, i'm through. Fantasy is fine, but when you go to psuedo-science, my crap tolerance level is soon exceeded.
ОтветитьStupid as Crap - like most or this genre . Nice-looking fake-blonde, tho .
Ответить
