Quick question, I live in Northern California. The temperature goes down to 30-40s in the winter overnight, does now snow and does get warmer during the day. Would that harm the pineapple? Great channel, already a subscriber. Thank you!.
Ответитьthank you!
ОтветитьI’m staggered that the prices shown in the into means that pineapple is MORE expensive in Oz than UK.
Still gonna try to grow the buggers though. Just picked up 3 for £2.
Now the long wait begins!
💕I’ll start my pineapple top growing now and I’ll let you know how it tastes in two years 💕💕
ОтветитьAnd I see the Santa Claus melon in that super market, nice. Thats my favorite melon to eat. I started my pineapple 🍍 in water. Hope it makes it when I transfer. Thanks for sharing your opinion about the tops being off and what common sense is telling most of us. Alaska is beautiful but it will not and hasn't stopped me from growing. I have been a listener for many years, keep up the good work💪🏾.
ОтветитьPotting seemed to take forever, couldn't you have sped the recording up a little, just for us impatient ones.
ОтветитьI wish I could been born in Australia ❤ instead of America.
Ответитьyour energy is freakin awesome!
ОтветитьAfter you grow a pineapple and harvest the fruit, will the plant grow another pineapple?
ОтветитьFantastic.
ОтветитьLove your video and personality! Thank you !!!
ОтветитьAfter you plant it how often do you need to water it?
ОтветитьInstead of cutting the top off, twist it off by hand, remove about 4 layers of leaves to expose the early rootlets . Jam it into a pot of soil and water it by the top not at the base. Ive had mine in soil for a week, already has rooted and holding itself in .
ОтветитьHow do we grow pineapples that are big and juicy like the one's in the store? I've grown many and they are only half the size and not as juicy and sweet. Is there a difference between growing from the tops and commercial plants? If so how to we get commercial plants? Anybody know?
ОтветитьWhat a comical breath of fresh air your video was! Too funny! 😂
Thanks for the laughs and the easy to understand and straightforward and to the point lesson in planting a pineapple plant from a store bought pineapple!
I can't wait to go buy my next pineapple to plant my first! Your humor made this video so pleasant!
😊
I'm in Canada and mine is going on 3 years and no fruit. I've done everything suggested, although I just took it outside this summer to see if I get anything. It keeps producing leaves but that's about it. What to do? Ty
ОтветитьMine always start rotting when i leave the fruity bits on.
ОтветитьThey cut the tops of at the supermarket 🤔😧
ОтветитьIt takes 2 years there now you don't have to watch
ОтветитьThe pineapple is one of the most impractical fruit bearing plants to grow at home. It takes up a lot of space and gives very little return for the amount of space that it takes up. Not a practical plant to grow for the home gardener.
ОтветитьLove having Russel craw on my screen teaching how to grow pineapple 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьHi Mark,
Just found your channel, I love it
Trying to get ideas for growing in the UK
Any how, re: pineapple tops brought without the leaves
Have you tried covering the top of the plant, rather than leaving it open to the air
It might then sprout 🌱
Looking forward to watching your videos on filling raised beds
All the best from the Uk
Andy
I absolutely love your videos!
ОтветитьI have found it is a 50/50 chance of growing from a store bought pineapple. I have 3, two in pots and one in water, all started in water.
What I have found is after twisting of the top and removing the lower leaves, if all you see are brown nubs of roots, it won't grow.
If you see ANY indication of white nubs of roots, put it in water and it will usually grow roots.
2 years is a long time... for 1 fruit.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this, From Durban South Africa I love to grow all types of veggies, had my pineapples been growing for years in a pot, actually there's 2 pineapples on the one at this moment, can't wait to try them
ОтветитьIt takes two years!
Ответить2 years ..😮..
Ответитьlol! this id awesome!
ОтветитьCan you do a video from store brought pineapples where the tops are cut off please ? this is how they all are sold now
ОтветитьLol I love how the othe pineapple attacks you at the beginning 🥰 thank you for the info
ОтветитьVery cool. a friend gave me a few heads. Keen to grow these bad boys.
ОтветитьHow did you manage to get a regular size pineapple and not a little one? I saw an old video of yours where you were getting little ones instead of regular size ones
ОтветитьI'm growing a couple in Perth in pots, from store bought fruit. On a north facing fence it took me seven years to get the first one to produce a fruit. Second one is fruiting at 5 years. I'm hoping the slips will do better. Disagree on your theory on why they cut tops off. You would need a pretty big back yard to keep yourself supplied with pineapples full time.
ОтветитьI have two and they look healthy but no fruit yet
ОтветитьI always enjoy watching you Mark 👍 Great information Adam From Brisbane Qld 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьJust subscribed! Love this guy! 😊
ОтветитьI will grow them this year, tomorrow I buy a pineapple and cut of the top. 👍thanx Mark!!!👍
ОтветитьSorry what I mean is could you do a video on good eatable plants for apartments
ОтветитьPLEASE DO A VIDEO
ОтветитьWhat fruits and vegetables would be good to grow inside in an apartment
ОтветитьCan you start them in water then in dirt please reply back
ОтветитьLol i don't believe they would get the top off because we can grow them.. it's freaking 2 years which will fruit only next once or twice atmost that too in another 2 years lol.
Barely people like you or me do growing out of it .. they will still be in lot profit mark
Great video, but, where are your other videos regarding this subject?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing. You showed me how to plant a pineapple top I’ve been saving for weeks.
Your shorts are hilarious🤭
