ОтветитьThe K doesn't stand for anything anymore, but it used to stand for "Kool" back in the early days IIRC since you had the proprietary CDE (Common Desktop Environment) and then KDE (Kool Desktop Environment)
ОтветитьWhen KDE was first released, it acquired the name Kool desktop environment, which was then abbreviated as K desktop environment or KDE.
Ответитьthanks for the quick overview
ОтветитьIf Windows would use KDE - stop forcing updates stop trying to force MS accounts and stop tricking its users into using their bandwidth to upload updates to other users, that would be fuckin perfect. So Windows with KDE but NOT run by MS.
ОтветитьThanks

ОтветитьKde is easy to navigate untill you open settings search bar
ОтветитьXFCE/i3/Win10 user here, but I've been using KDE for the last four months and it's very pretty and cohesive, more so than the other DE's I've used in all my OSes. The KDE settings menu is the way I need my system to let me manage settings from now on, everything in one place. For real though, KDE isn't wildly stable and is also a massive resource hog most of the time.
Plus Dolphin sorta sucks and the default theme is so unattractive.
Hi, nice intro. I recently migrated to Arch Manjaro KDE Plasma from ubuntu gnome. I'd like to know more tips navigating with touchpad, keyboard on my laptop...I found Dolphin kind of annoying--it always opened the old tabs :(
