ОтветитьNice build....and great job....good content and thanks....🔧🔧👍
ОтветитьNick you total legend :), Aussie here,
WHEN I win he lottery I'll be seeing you for a classic Mopar build :),
cheers
Not sure what the cam specs are or what the compression is, but an aluminum headed 440 should have no trouble making 525-550hp.
ОтветитьReminds me of a 65 satellite i had 383 with 440 heads in 1975 780 holly it would pull and throw you in the back seat
ОтветитьNice looking, nice sounding, & a nice performing engine.
Good job Kendall.
Nice build Kendall! Great seeing this on the dyno! Merry Christmas to Nick, George , nicks brother and all the crew!
ОтветитьI want to know, when do you know when to adjust the absorber?
This first time engine builder says "I don't know" a lot.
At the end should have reinstalled the 4 hole spacer.
loved this episode. Had a 440 Police Pursuit engine, (stamped on the block tag) I dropped into my first 69 Bee in 1977. wish I had that car now.
ОтветитьGood evening guys!!! 460+HP is not bad, NOT BAD AT ALL for a first time engine builder!!! Great job, Kendall!!! Makes me wanna build one!!!! Great week and Merry Christmas, love, joy and peace to all at Nick's garage!!!
ОтветитьAre you mesuring the timing without vacume advance? So 34 degrees vacumehose of
ОтветитьThumper carb would have hit 500HP easy.
ОтветитьHP is nice to talk about, but it's the torque that makes a car fun on the street. 500+ ft.lbs. @ 5,000 rpm is going to be a LOT of fun in an E-body !
ОтветитьI have test 32 Deegres taiming!! Mayby 470hp??
ОтветитьMerry Christmas from Detroit, nice build, see you on Woodward
ОтветитьNicely done Kendall. Building an engine is like writing music. If there's a sour note, everyone will hear it. Your engine plays Mozart. Merry Christmas!
ОтветитьHaven’t watched it yet but what a beautiful looking engine. It’s a credit to you.
ОтветитьThat’s a pretty sweet first build - congratulations on some great numbers and what’s sure to become a sweet E body
ОтветитьGreat Build Kendall!!!! The 440 sounds great and you brought it to the right place !!!! Nick's Garage !!!!
ОтветитьMERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MR.NICK ,GEORGE ,MANNY ,MELISSA, AND THE KREW !!!! AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE HERE !!!! GOD BLESS YOU......
ОтветитьYes sir merry Christmas to you all
ОтветитьA 440 is an awesome first build If I was Kendal I'd be thrilled He's booked it in with Nick for a dyno test cuz everyone knows Nick's Garage is the best and they've got mechanical empathy so their clients are blessed Merry Christmas to all and to all a Merry Christmas Thanks Nick Kendal and George
ОтветитьGreat Build Kendall and great guidance from the 440 Master...
ОтветитьThat stumble on acceleration would drive me nuts.
Ответитьwas going to put 515hp but my finger slipped to the end so. eating chips.
ОтветитьThat genuine slow smile of Nick's when he heard the static compression was 200. No wonder he wanted to keep tinkering. They would have gotten to 500 HP.👍
ОтветитьThat will make your E body a lot of fun to drive! Great choice of parts you used in this build!👍
ОтветитьNice job Kendall 👍 😎
ОтветитьAnother great night with the dyno! That engine is going to be great once it's in a car.
Thanks to Nick and George for dyno night and to Kendall for the great engine build.
MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS!
"Lefty Mudersbach is up ahead. All hope he's running right... he moves way ahead of the Howard Cam Special, and... he takes it! The winner, Lefty Mudersbach, on the street side..."
ОтветитьGreat build Kendall !!!
ОтветитьNice build , cool to find a nice Dart to put it in .. Well Merry Christmas to all and Build On
ОтветитьKendall, you done real good 😉 Excellent choice in cams as far as duration. You don’t need a huge cam on the street. They aren’t very enjoyable. Howard’s was a great choice.
ОтветитьWow, Kendall did a GREAT job for his first time 440 - a BIG congratulations to him! Runs great and NO LEAKS either!
ОтветитьFunny how he's looking for peak horsepower but he just plays guesswork with the timing I've never seen such lack of skill from someone that's supposed to be so skilled he kind of reminds me of some redneck that's been slaving away in his garage for 20 years hasn't stepped out and is still using tools from a hundred years ago I would like to see someone bring him a fuel injection set up a full hallway system see if he can figure that out
ОтветитьGreat job Kendall, congratulations on a fine 440 build.
Nice job Nick on the Dyno testing.
Merry Christmas to Nick and the whole staff at Nicks Garage.
Merry Christmas Kindall.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Nick!
ОтветитьMy first was a 327 from my 68 Chevelle. My first car in 1988 when I was in HS. It was a 396SS car but the original owner’s son snuck it out and blew up the 396 with a missed shift. The dad was a sales manager at a Chevy store, they had a L79 replacement (early 70s at the time) that he decided to use.
By 1988 it smoked on hot starts and used oil. Nothing fancy on the rebuild other than a bigger cam, 3 angle valve job with hardened seats and some lighter JE pistons. We did it in my auto shop class at Valley HS in Vegas.
I sold that engine to a buddy with a 67 Nova when I was in the Navy. My second build was a 427. Also traded the M-20 for a M-22. Machine work on that one was done by PAW.
Sounds like the owner is a scaredy cat, Factory Motors will turn 5500 anyway
ОтветитьWith the RPM intakes, they seem to like 4 hole up to cams that are 230*@.050 or less. Start going bigger it needs an open spacer for the higher RPM.
ОтветитьWhat was your fastest mph running nitro?
ОтветитьPhil’s great.
Ответить460 Hp is pretty good, I'd certainly be happy with it. Better than 1 HP per cube. Where are the sheetmetal valvecovers from? I want to get a set of those.
ОтветитьMerry Christmas from Monroe Michigan 😊
ОтветитьPut a real performance carb on it.
ОтветитьHey Nick
I bought the Vanishing Point book & saw the pic of your KOWASKI plate!
Cool Congrats
It's nice to watch a master at his game.
ОтветитьKendall did good!!
Thanks Nic for being a great guy and knowing so much about these cars we love.
