Why Was Need for Speed: Underground A Big Deal?

i can't believe that nfs underground was made at 2003 bro, so ahead of its time. u look at other companies and racing games, they all suck but it didnt last that long either. too me, it lasted well till carbon, i mean prostreet was a fresh idea but a bit boring and weird steering and mechanism

Played as a kid on pc but didnt have any controls and hated using a keyboard so i used a joystick i bet no racing game now has joystick support.

Best need for speed was underground 2 and a VERY close second is the first one. Low key it's really like 1A & 1B because both of the need for speed games were GREAT.

Replaying Underground 2 for the 100th time now and I can say for sure that this was the best game in the entire street racing scene I'll never understand why EA refuses to Remake this masterpiece.

This might probably well be the very first game I've ever played, and I've been playing all sorts of games for the past decade and I have very, very fond memories of this one. I was never good at it, in fact I sucked at it, but this and Underground 2 were my playground back then.

I never got to beat that Mazda with high ass handling and acceleration. I remember because I just got the eclipse and wasted all my money on upgrades that weren't enough.

my dad gave me his ps2 when i was little and i would play nemo this game and toy story and i remember always hearing that song everytime i got on it it’d be like TO THE WINDOWSSSSSSS TO THE WALLLS one of my first games ever and it’s so nostalgic to hear that song

Whenever I think of NFS I always remember underground on the Nintendo sp with that Lil Jon song. I feel after underground nitrous stop working the computer knows and set the other car to be faster

I’ve been playing this the past couple days as someone who wasn’t even born when it came out and I just throw on the Tokyo drift soundtrack it really captures that F&F spirit while still being fun, addictive and not monotonous.

Pretty much 99% of my playtime was just driving around the open world listening to Lil Jon, and building up my speed as much as possible before smashing into something for fun. Now I gotta go back and try to play the actual game modes lol

I recently downloaded NFS Underground 2 just for nostalgia, now I find myself absolutely hooked because of how content rich the game is.

EVERYTHING EA has put out after Underground 2 is plain and simply Shit. They should’ve just ended the NFS legacy right there and come up with a new name, coz jesus have they fucked up big over the years

Most wanted original was pretty badass as well but the undergrounds were my fav

Just the music by it self made the game so epic...these song just hits different while you are on the track trying to be first... everything was just placed right...and im kinda sad EA didnt even think about remastering these series 🤦.. underground 1 was just epic game even tho it didnt has an open world like underground 2...

NFSU is my favourite. It gets left behind now cause everyone loves NFSU2, but the original will always be my preferred.

Played this game so much not only did the disc get so sctratched up i couldnt play it anymore but i played it so much i could beat all of the maps driving in reverse i dont think i can still do that anymore its been like 10 years so i dont think i have that level of skill anymore but still i wish they remastered this game for the xbox one i loved this game so much
