Jesus Christ it was hard to watch Cena lay into Roman like that around the midway point of this video. Like holy crap I'm not sure I've ever felt so bad for a pro-wrestler.

WWE fell off after 2014 I stopped watching cause it was just dogshit and Roman is a terrible face of the company his mic work was a joke, the fact it took 5 years of the big shots at WWE pushing him so hard for something to finally work is crazy.

The only thing unreal is the fact they make Roman Reigns basically unbeatable. Guys a joke.

I remember the time when a lot of people were saying The Usos should team up with Roman so that they can teach him how to do a promo. Never expected that the Bloodline would really form.

Wanna add that it was after the Survivor Series I believe I saw Sami and Jey do the same silly handshake Sami and Jimmy used to do after their win at War Games. Was waiting for that handshake for Sami and Jey to finally appear since those two need to form the Team Ucey tag-team some day.

First off this video was absolutely amazing. It really took a hour and a half video to painfully remind me how hated this dude was for how long and then how it’s what makes pro wrestling so special. I’ve never suggested a video to a creator ever before but this type of energy for a Cody with his AEW fallout I feel like it has to be done. I could understand though how it might come off as too similar. Thank you again for the video reminding me how great this art really could be.

as a non wrestling fan, holy shit the massive amounts of emotional abuse this man consistently let himself be put through for just to keep doing what he loved. Like my fuck this is the epitome of "calm the actual fuck down, it's just a game." It's one thing to go along with a story line where someone is knowingly playing a villain, it's another thing to treat someone with such utter cruelty for the person he is, not the character.

The psychology of wrestling fans is a fascinating thing. I have several shelves of biographies and history books on the sport going back to the 1800s.

And one big element is if fans feel even a HINT that they are being pushed to feel a certain way, they will push back HARDER.

Roman had the look and moves, he just went too far too fast and needed to get his feet under him. And WWE wouldnt let him, and fans, maybe unconsciously saw that.

Also fans are really good about seperating art from artist. Most hated Roman. Few if any hated Joe.

I have not much interest in wrestling at all, but through your videos I have really come to appreciate its art and storytelling. I have no words for how tough Roman's mental fortitude is, for having to withstand YEARS of hatred for just doing your job and at the same time battling leukemia.

It's interesting that Roman/Joe was a football player, then wrestled in a team, then his Bloodlines Era was also in a team setting. He flourishes with the people around them. Maybe making him a super loner was the biggest mistake WWF made with him.

I always thought they were "the shield of the w we" as in, they were the future of the business. To protect the kayfabe and character adaptation work profit margin investment. I grew up watching WWE in the earlier 2000’s and fell out of it before Roman arrived. I am now back into it again right after the no audience COVID shows ended.

I now have so much appreciation for Roman and this video displays how triumphant his career has become. It’s like he came back with a vengeance, changed his face, his body, his attitude. So freaking cool to see. Really happy the guy finally won the audience over as a character.

i seriously do NOT remember the crowd hating roman when he was being put against the authority and vince, i remember people absolutely LOVING that he finally got his chance at the title, and i can't mistake it for edited in cheers because i was able to watch it live, i might be misremembering or something but i seriously recall people eating up roman finally beating the authority (and punching vince)
