Can the jog wheel sensitivity be adjusted on these at all?

how do you change effects on second deck on the controller? when i switch to channel 2 and hit the FX select it still goes thru the list on channel 1.

has the smart fader been fixed in serato yet?

About to hit buy on this - can’t help but feel like it lacks some sort of back lighting though and also doesn’t look as good as the DDJ 400?!

Up faders? Let's use the correct terminology, they're called channel faders.

I started off my DJing hobby over two decades ago with Pioneer CDJ-500S CD decks and DJM-300 mixer (because I had a ton of CD singles). I soon transferred fully to vinyl on a pair of Technics 1210s (because it was hard to find full length mixes of many tracks, I did keep the same mixer). Even though the DJM-300 had BPM counters on them, I never used them, I learned to mix the old school way - by ear, I prefer it.

Managed to play a few bars (even had a Friday night "residency" at one for a while) the local club a few times and a ton of house parties and weddings. I got a job in America so had to leave all my DJ equipment and records behind (would have cost FAR too much to ship it all).

I just bought a Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 to get back into it (yet to turn up) looking forward to it, although I have to say, the user interface for Rekordbox is fugly as sin, it could be SO much better, and the fact you need to buy a subscription for all the features is a major L, I'll just be using it for basic mixing I reckon.

If were looking to eventually do clubs or festivals should I learn without all the smart buttons?

i had the ddj400 and i moved to flx4, so i wanted to know if can i map the button witch is close to "loop out" and work like ddj400 used too, i mean at ddj 400 when you predd that button (loop exit) goes to your last loop and at the flx4 when yo pred that button activates a 4 beat loop, thats weird.

Does anyone know if you can assign the freeze button from the beat fx in rekordbox so you can trigger it on the flx4? I listen to lots of dub music and use this button in the software to freeze the low filter echo beat fx but I have to use my mouse to click freeze at exactly the right time. Would be much easier if I could freeze the echo directly on the controller. Any help would be appreciated 🙏

The fact that it can be connected to other sources like tablet, mobile and not only laptop, that's a huge step for an entry level.

If you want to hear the opinion of an old man who has already been playing in bars and clubs for 30 years and has not been left behind technologically and you also like the various technical tricks, I have only one thing to tell you, it will not raise your level in the set more expensive pioneer , or what else .. You have to listen to a lot, a lot of music, even music that you don't like, you have to have an opinion ... For me, too, most of the tricks you can do are not just for once in a while set, if you constantly do technique and tricks during the set, you will tire the ears of those who listen to you, learn to flow in the set, raise your technique by playing without synchronization and I tell you again, the good dj has listened to 20 000 to 30 000 albums.

I have a DDJ-400, and the sound color FX I have on Rekordbox are different to the Smart CFX shown here. Please note I have the latest version of Rekordbox (with Track separation etc). Is there a way I can have these smart CFX but still using my DDJ400? I don't need the button on the controller, just the Smart CFX on the software. Thanks!

But how did you map/program the MIDI with rekordbox?? I would love to see a video please.. OR PLEASE RELEASE YOUR MIDI MAP 🙏 I have had the absolute most frusterating time trying to set up the jog wheel and FX since when you buy the controller it doesnt come mapped to anything and you have to map everything manually..... There are no videos on this so im sure people would get tons of use out a mapping midi video PLEASE

If you use sync you can do the smart fade stuff “manually” pretty easily

Question, how are DJs getting their music nowadays? I haven’t DJ since the 2010s when I was either buying music straight off, iTunes, or B port, or from CDs… since then, I’ve gotten lazy relying on Apple Music or Spotify; as far as I know, you can’t use those with any DJ program 🤔

So you can’t record your sets on Serato? And you can only use 4 pads, even with Serato pro right?

Just objectively plainly fucking wrong! For the little difference in price but huge fuckin gap in performance ignore that bullhit and look for the FLX 600
