Why are western women always trying to tell other women what they should do?

This is not so much a problem as being presented. China has one billion more people than the USA. That's a lot of people, and will act as a buffer from the population decline being predicted. Also, there is an enormous number of very poor people in China's countryside. This fact is covered up as much as possible by CCP censorship. What this means is that there are hundreds of millions of people available in the sidelines to replace any lost population decline by city folk who are not reproducing.

I've met so many women from China who are happier in Canada and the US. We don't ask illegal questions about marriage or child rearing in interviews, they're paid almost as well as men. They don't face as much gender discrimination in Western countries compared to China

It's no rocket science. The root cause is money. Everything is expensive these days that means someone needs to work and work because if you don't then no income. We are even having a hard time sustaining our own lives what more if we bring another mouth to feed and send to school. Wait, it's not only about food and school, children also have other needs and if you know yourself you can't provide those then i believe it's better to not have them in the first place. Why bring another human to struggle in this economy?

Fundamentally it comes down to lack of financial freedom. Working is not optional in most societies. Limited income, cost of education, cost of living. If housing, food, transport weren't so high. People wouldn't be so reluctant to have children. Declining birth rates is happening globally. I don't think it's a bad thing. The social and economic mind set needs to change or it will be a problem.

Society tends to blame women. If men and society didn't put most of the chores and childcare responsibilities on the women, as well as not discriminate in the workplace, it would not be as much as a problem. And how about the "bachelors" living a wayward and womanizing lifestyle without taking responsibility?

If female empowerment somehow caused the birth rate to increase, you can bet the powers that be (and the scientists who advise them) would NOT be in support of it. Certainly not enforcing it like they are now pretty much everywhere.

Lot of people complaining about cost of living here.
We are all responsible for this.
40 years ago below items didn’t exist.
1) Internet, monthly payments, I work from home 2 days a week, I was paying for 15 mbps down, 5 up, I see people paying lot more for 500 mbps, most people don’t need this.
2) smart phones, people buy new phone every 2 years.
3) food delivery, heard that most people order food delivery 2 times a week.
4) busying new electronics like laptops, desktop, gaming consoles, TVs

People can save lot of money if they want but they don’t.
At the end complain about increase cost of living.

Mao saw Chinese population as his canon folders to fight global wars. The more the merrier. If the Chinese population keeps growing at pace before, say, when they have 3 billion, they would certainly invade Taiwan, on top of that they will greatly pollute and deplete all resources on this increasingly fragile planet.

Not defending China but they picked an interviewer out of touch with ground realities. Well of middle class women make choices about pregnancy as an option. Most of China's women choose not to have kids because they can barely afford to feed and house themselves, having a kid would mean deeper poverty. So why would they have a kid, its not an option. You look at poor rural countries they choose to have kids because they need them to support the family. You do not get that dimension in majority urban countries.

When the environment becomes harsh, animals will reduce or even stop reproducing. This is their nature, and the same for human beings. The most macro-level reason is China’s economy. Those dark sides previously obscured by the economic boom are gradually being exposed now, such as inequality in income distribution, inequality between men and women, exorbitant housing prices, and the lingering effects of the one-child policy, etc. The most serious problem is class solidification, which is a dilemma faced by most people (even not a male-female issue). If the children of working class work hard all their lives, but still won't get more than the children of the rich when they are born, what could be the meaning of living like slaves then? I think South Korea is in the same predicament.

Refusal to have children ——this is the silent resistance of China's young generation to excessive work pressure and class solidification, which is much more than a gender topic. When some bosses go beyond labor laws to exploit employees, they say, "why does it have to be you? If you don't do this job, many other people will do." And the official knows everything, but keeps indifferent. Now every time the news promotes having more children, young people will fight back with "why does it have to be me? If I don't have children, many other people will do."

Women will never choose children over a career until having children is part of why they become financially secure. Long ago that was through marriage as a wife and their desire to have a children with their husband to secure the marriage, since she got her income from her husband.
Now that system is no longer an option, women will never, at scale choose children in large enough numbers to replace or even grow the population in any nation

Listen, everything is well and good while someone is able to physically take care of themselves. Eventually, everyone's body and mind starts to break down at a certain age. Who is most likely going to be there to take care of an elderly person? It would most likely be the children of that aging parent. I wish these strong and independent women well, they are going to need it.
