Why I Left Christianity

Hello Everyone! It's getting harder to respond to all of the comments, but I do want to just share... I did/do know that having a relationship with Jesus is NOT because of things you do. I understand, from the Christian perspective, that a relationship with Jesus means accepting the free gift of His sacrificial death as the absolute payment for one's own sin, and trusting in the miraculous resurrection as the power of forgiveness. Simply in trusting in Christ's death and resurrection is the restoration of a person's relationship with God from the moment of acceptance into eternity. I never considered any of my works as means for salvation, it was always solely on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The reason I shared that I was a Bible school student, youth pastor, and passionate about apologetics was to communicate that I was serious about my faith. I was never the type of Christian that just showed up on some Sundays and didn't care about my faith -- my faith permeated throughout my entire life. I hope this helps to clarify. It is written that there would be a great falling away of believers, and those that are truly walking in fear of God see that this is the separation of the chaff from the wheat search the fruits of the person and you can see why they left was cause the desire of they're flesh! 💔 😢

Hi John,.....very similar journey! - I've read Newton's books and some of the other authors you mentioned, was raised LDS, then born again christian, but was always a universalist mystic at heart, so now am more of a spiritualist, meta-theist, theosophist...because TRUTH is universal anyways, and consciousness is the fundamental reality, - that pure awareness at the heart of all is 'God', being all--pervading and all-inclusive. - subscribed! - look forward to engaging more in discussions and networking.

Same answer to everything. Always the same. The church has failed tremendously, because most of it is a false church. You were never simply saved. You can do everything from cast out demons and prophesy but not be saved. (Matthew 7:21), you can be a pastor, theologically sound one too, all of your life. Like Samuel, you could be born and raised in the temple. But unlike Samuel, not be saved. You were not saved. Your faith was not a genuine saving faith. I know that's harsh but it's true. Look at rhe Parable of the sower. You simply sound like the one of the first three soils. More like the lusts of the world choked you out. If you was saves you never would've left those kids. And judging by the video thus wasn't a biblical faith to begin with. I'm sorry freind. But you must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven. You simply wasn't. Repent (turn away) from your sins, and trust in Christs death, burial, and reseruction. Not admire or like it. But genuine faith in Him for salvation.

Outstanding presentation, thank you! I was raised with a fundamentalist mindset. Try being gay in that, as I am. Anyway, I too no longer identify as a Christian. I’ve arrived at many of the same conclusions as you. I agree that we are all each on our own individual journey of life, learning, and discovery. There truly is no wrong answer. Wow what I hear from "Decontrructs" is LEGALISM, MANDATES, RULES, CONDEMATION, FOCUS ON SIN Rather than the SPIRIT& the LOVE and Goodness of God. That's man's NOT NOT MY LORD and HIS WORD! I find people focused and put their faith on other people than on the LORD and LIVING ON HIS WORD and WALKING IN HIS SPIRIT and Walking with JESUS! More people need to realize this is more normal than talked about. Im a deconstructed Christian too. The father son analogy is great.. i feel that way too. A man changed against his will, is if his opinion still. Good book recommendations too. Ive read some of those, but not "the journey of souls".. ill check that out. Psilocybin or mushrooms changed my life from one of being a total loser to one of accomplishment. I had smoked marijuana in college and dropped out with no direction in life. One night I was in my best friend’s dorm room and we decided to try psilocybin. During the experience I saw how at one point in my life I wanted to be an important man like my father who was a physician, but how I began to fear failure. So, I decided if I didn’t try, I couldn’t be said to have actually failed. Dumb, right? But while tripping I saw if I didn’t try I would always fail. But if I tried real hard, even a dummy like me might succeed. So, I immediately, the next day, re-enrolled in college, got great grades and graduated. I became a Probation Officer and discovered I enjoyed going to Court and had a penchant for it. So I entered law school graduating cum laude, on the honor society. I got a job as a Prosecutor and developed procedures for successfully prosecuting child abuse cases and within six years of graduating law school was made a Judge. All because of that trip on psilocybin fifteen years earlier.

The lesson I take from this is no matter how much we know and where we are in Christ we must always be aware of the importance of subtle ways the Devil can come in and infiltrate!

I'm a 62 year old, life-long Christian. My shift started when my husband left me 15 years ago. I felt that God took my Life Tree and shook it and all the beliefs that were not genuine started falling off my tree. Fast forward a few years ... i did 2 Psylicibin journeys that changed my life forever. I have completely left the church, and have such an awareness that Love is everywhere, and is all that matters. I experience such love for people that i would previously have felt sorry for as they were going to hell, as they followed a different religion, or no religion. I am so grateful for where i am now! Thank you for sharing your story. My advice, listen to the voice inside yourself. Its not the devil or demons. It is the truth. Love y'all!

I feel sorry that you left the only way back to the Creator of this universe. All those who left the Savior share the same symptom: Being very religious but never actually having a life-transforming experience with Christ and having no convictions of anything with their faith at all. Being religious won't get you there. In fact, being religious can and will kill your experience with Christ. There is no way to heaven Father except through His Son. All the puzzles are falling into place as prophesied by the Bible. This is the end. If you really want to save your spirit, go and watch End Time prophecies. The end of the world is imminent. Don't let your spirit be separated from God's presence in eternity. As long as you are still breathing, it's not too late to come to real faith. Again, don't be RELIGIOUS!

We live in a BIBLICAL world, in where BAAL is worshipped and praised to this day and CHRIST is rejected by many.
GOD give us different languages, just to stop us from finishing the building of the tower of BABEL.

Congratulations - it takes a lot of courage to leave organized religion.

Love God and love your neighbour as yourself, this is the greatest commandment. The possible existence of reincarnation and existence of the spirit world, the existence of different dogmas around christianity, doesn't stop one from trying to keep this commandment. The christian walk is complicated but keeping one's mind on this commandment i find is helpful.

My heart goes out to all of you. I'm reminded of a Scripture in John 6 when many of Jesus' followers just dropped everything and left him. "And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." That's the point, where else is there to go? The apostle Paul knew we would struggle with tough questions and tough environments (cultures) in the letter to the Colossians "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." The world is changing, and we all can see that everything we believed is unfolding, but still many refuse to. 2 Tim 3 "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." I pray everyone who honestly are struggling with their faith, consider the cost, examine the Word of God and not philosophy or your own wisdom. Don't follow your heart, Jer 17 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" There is a purpose and a plan for all of us, we have to trust Him. Jesus was the Messiah, He was God in the flesh, lived, crucified, buried, and resurrected, and is coming again, so as a believer in Christ, we must believe in his words, that he was the Son of God. Therefore, to believe in our own construct of who God is, and how he relates to us, we cannot do that apart from who Jesus Christ is..without making up our own God and our own personal truth. There is but 1 God and no other. Please, reconsider and pray for the truth. I always do and will pray for all of you.

Mushrooms.. when did yoga pop on your life.m that's another religion too. How long were you practicing another faith of an enemy. And I don't want to sound like a judgmental dick and your personal sex life is none of my business but from the start of this video I thought it was a coming out video . Coming on very feminine ( not judging) video is about half over. once you mentioned yoga also looks like you got overed in tattoos after you left your faith. But I noticed you had some tattoos before your fall so interesting you fell back on yoga instead of going to the bible on your darkest night . You are so focused on heaven/hell. I think it's bigger then that. We are called to be like our father in heaven old testament be holy as I am holy. New testament Jesus says be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect .you read so many new books. Trading old prophets for new ones. Man I feel for you. I am praying for you. Come back to your 1st love. It's never to late. And no. I don't think your going to hell. But I think you are missing out on the kingdom of heaven. Leaving what is taught today as Christianity vs losing faith in God are really two different things. No one talks about that.

Since I have left church and all the indoctrination Iam now learning how to be spiritual. I have learned about chakras and the third eye. You have to like ephesians 6 warns us to be aware of spiritual wickedness. This is where christianity fails. They dont go beyond theology. Throw up a scud misslile prayer and say in jesus name to cover your bases is about it. I am more loving, understanding than ever.
