Discovering Topaz Photo AI: Sharpening, Noise Reduction, & Upscaling Photos

There was a question about Nikon Z9 NEFs. Photo AI (and the other plug-ins from Topaz) will not currently read NEFs captured in Nikon's new High Efficiency Raw (HE) format. It reads lossless compressed NEFs just fine. If you use HE Raw, your options are to either use the plug-in on an exported TIFF, or convert your HE RAW file to DNG format to open it directly in Photo AI. Converting to DNG has no drawback other than the inconvenience of the conversion process. I made an export preset in Lightroom 12 to convert raw images to DNG and then automatically import the resulting file to the source directory.
