2025 Honda HR-V Sport - The BUDGET FRIENDLY Subcompact SUV

Loving my ‘24 Sport in Nordic Forest Pearl. Upgraded from an ‘09 CR-V

Last year in Aug 23 I wanted to buy a new Honda. I had 8200 equity in my 20 Fit EX. I wanted a 23 Accord EX. In Texas, my insurance would jump 445.00 in my 6 months. A Civic you could not find in my DFW market was 440.00 more in insurance. I found a Civic EXL Hatchback to test drive to compare with the Accord EX. Between the 2, the Accord drove much better. I refused to pay my insurance company 300.00 a month on an Accord EX. That’s almost the payment. The cheapest insurance hike of 235.00 was for a 24 HRV EXL. I found one. The last one the dealer had in their show room. Milano Red with blind spot. I thought it’s too big and I didn’t want a suv. But insurance is horrible so I bought it. 29,000 MSRP. No mark ups. Financed 20,500. My car is 342.00 a month. Insurance 229.00 a month. In 12 months, my loans at 10,400. I’m paying extra principal. I sacrificed the car I wanted due to high insurance. But so far no issues. Thank God! I due have leather interior, larger screen, wireless car play, charger and parking sensors the accord didn’t have plus a more reliable motor and not that horrible 1.5 turbo. So I did get benefits besides lower insurance. I wish it had lumbar like the Accord in my power seat.

On the fence about buying a 2025 HR-V vs a CR-V.
Do you know if the 190hp (crv) vs 158hp (hrv) makes a significant difference?

I would rather use skates than drive that. Honda is king of uncool

30k is budget friendly before the pandemic 2020 it was 23k. 🤬🤬

I just got the EX-L for 29k out the door

Any big reasons to get this over a HRV 2024?

In 2022 the Honda HR-V was a great spunky looking fun car. In 2023 Honda updated the look and made this car longer and wider AND UGLIER so they could CHARGE YOU MORE❗ In 2025 the HR-V is one of the UGLIEST cars on the road BUT Honda is charging BIG BUCKS for a LESS RELIABLE CAR ❗

The mpg is vry underrated, I'm getting 37 on the hwy.
