Thanks so much for this tutorial, Ronny! I really enjoyed following along and doing the steps with you. I had the same problem you did with the first example. You made me laugh out loud when you said you could just run the background remover a hundred times.

I always enjoy yours and Diana's videos so much. I appreciate you both very much!

I'm having a problem with this and I wonder if it's because I'm using a vertical gradient instead of a horizontal. I've tried outlining the text and using various amounts of transparency. It only seems to work with straight black text, which defeats the purpose. I think one of my problems is that some of the gradient colors are very light so there's not a lot of contrast, which is why I tried using a text outline, but that' didn't work either. Any suggestions?

It's a great tutorial for dark backgrounds. I've been trying to figure out how to do gold gradient lettering using this method, but it's not working out for me, sadly

Thanks for the tutorial but I hope Canva team will just make it a text effect option for any text to have gradients in the future @canva

This isn't a simple hack it's an obtuse workaround to achieve a less effective version of something I could've made with microsoft's wordart tool over a decade ago

it is incredibly shocking that Canva doesn't allow a much easier way... other websites that I won't mention on here, have automatic text gradients.
