Literally ripped every single NBN supplied service off our buildings and relocated them into comms rooms - as we asked. 24 of them so far. It's not hard to follow instructions - but they choose the simplest of methods to do a piss-poor job. NBNco techs are either really good, or really shit.
ОтветитьHad Nbn also refuse to do internal conduit work. So with a severe back deformation and associated pain, since no one would help us - my carer also has health issues - I spent little by little over 3 months, time under the house opening up space and positioning conduit, hammer drilling brick work and also heat forming conduit before finally on the 3rd booking the technician acquiesced to put fibre through. One lot of technicians even had the nerve to lie and say they did not speak English. I despise Nbn for the lying, pain and misery we were put through.
ОтветитьOur neighbour asked the NBN to check out FTTP, the pit is less than 5 metres away from our place, and we have an old Foxtel connection. They said to her they would have to dig a pit from my place to hers. I don't understand why they couldn't use the Foxtel conduit. After he left, we lost our internet connection for two weeks... he stepped on something, I'd be hesitant to call them out, you just don't know the quality of the tech you are going to get.
ОтветитьWhat the hell is wrong with the audio
ОтветитьNice work mate, thanks for the content
ОтветитьWhen FTP came to the area, I ran my own conduit with a draw wire to where I wanted it. As I was unsure where they were going to place the external box, I left a section without conduit. NBN could not even get the conduit plumb. The conduit was at a 30-degree slope on the wall. Zero craftsmanship.
Ответитьhi i got NBN to day why am i sill waiting for it to come on
ОтветитьBe aware you will get
No help from the NBN contractor who arrives for the connection
The first words will be sorry Mate, we do not go into the roof, you must provide the cable Pathaway and your internal connection point
For many who cannot do this themselves this is a cost beyond their means
Told him to FO and rang my provider to cancel, we have Fibre to the front of our block,l so get very good speed anyway
NBN connecting your home to fibre is really deceptive advertising
Also your mic is trash. Sounds like a table saw
ОтветитьBro, I tried to call my ISP about getting a cable/port in my building as there is no initial phone line in my house. And they too are refusing. I'm merely watching this so I can learn. I'd literally lift a tile off my roof, thread the chord down the wall and cut and add a socket to my wall because they aren't capable?
Ответитьhole punched in gyprock, conduit run just poor, no attempt to fix pivot joint.. no good
ОтветитьNice job, Jason. Great work these Internet providers or NBN. Do not know what they’re doing. Your work is awesome Jason.
ОтветитьWhat's with the grey corrugated conduit, shouldn't it be white!!
ОтветитьI can't believe the hole I am seeing punched through that internal wall (for the NTD). That is about as poor and low standard as you can get. If you don't have enough pride in your work to use a hole saw (or handheld plasterboard saw) and just don't care enough to try and do a professional and neat job, then you should not be in the business (let alone make videos about it). Why is it that comms techs, electricians and plumbers are amongst the worse tradesmen these days. All around us we see the deterioration of common decency and high standards. That is one of the reasons that the world is broken. It is one of the reasons why almost everything you buy these days (including services) has a 90% chance of being faulty.
ОтветитьWhy did you not store the fibre slack in the PCD? - it’s designed to do so, bet some (unfortunately underpaid) tech will just chop it and install a FIC on the ONT (despite being instructed not to do so ) - hope they did the right thing and pull it back.
ОтветитьAs an ex Telecom/Telstra tech, there are some really crap installations out there simply due in many instances from nbn/Telstra/ISP cabling demarcation issues. Also many contractors just can't give a stuff regards workmanship - anything goes as long as they get paid.
ОтветитьThe NBN documentation says that NBN is responsible for installing the cable outlet to the point inside the house. I had this argument with the ISP and NBN and eventually went to the telecom ombudsman and got it done.
ОтветитьNBN are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with, useless doesn’t do it justice.
ОтветитьGod I wish you guys serviced my town... So many troubles!
ОтветитьExternal conduit looks ugly. The better solution is to run it internally through the brick.
ОтветитьWorse ever conduit and cable run.
ОтветитьI bet you charged more than the $75 an nbn contractor would've got paid, oh don't forget to subtract materials😂😂
ОтветитьI’m just curious why you never go internally in the wall. Even With the inverter etc on the wall it’s still easily possibly to get up into the cavity .
ОтветитьPlease get a white Flexi and place saddles at equal distances!
ОтветитьYea you can bribe tech’s with cash as there is no paper trail. They will do things they usually don’t want to do
ОтветитьI'm getting fttp upgrade on the 13th June. The outside box is already installed. Ntd box is getting done on 13th June. I really want to put the ntd box where the modem and VoIP phone is now. Side wall next to the kitchen. But I read online that some are nice and will ask where you want the ntd box. Others will just install it back to back of where the outside box is. I looked at the outside box and opposite of that is our garage. But there's no power point there. So if there's no power point there you think they will install it where I want. Also I heard bribing them with money helps since there paid per job
ОтветитьNice work Jason. I'm convinced these NBN techs have no pride in their work and just don't care. Fortunately or unfortunately there will always be work for you as long as they are around 👍🤛
ОтветитьRough as guts
ОтветитьNice job Jason.
ОтветитьI’m not sure why but a lot of your videos have this high pitch whining noise, which is a real shame because it’s good content, just makes it extremely annoying to watch.
ОтветитьCorro city! Didn't know using electrical flexible conduit does not complies with S008 5.1.1. When I did my structured wiring course they were anal about how many bends and the radius. Fully understand using proper telco conduit is not always feasible, take a look at any shopping centre how they do mobile phone antennas.
Ответитьthey must not pay these NBN techs very well because they always seem to refuse to do this or that... wonder if they are paid by the job or hourly?
