And the way to stay in the pocket is to take off, immediately jump/lift to the top and turn to cut back in a fast row of movements? take off-lift-turn? (because in my case, pumping with rails ends pretty fast on small mushy waves, after 2 pumps the wave closes or dies).
ОтветитьWhen i finally got out the idea that good surfing was done "only" in big waves I realized that small waves are extremely fun, not intimidating and leg burners! Small waves can also be punchy and strong. Either way they are great to get rythm and flow, along with surfskating they make a really good duo for fast progression. Thanks for the videos and for shearing your knowledge! Peace!
ОтветитьLove the video!
Ответитьi am watching this video because i am going surfing soon and i love it so much thanks
ОтветитьThose sunnies are so impersonal.
ОтветитьWhat does "bowly" mean?
Ответитьyou mean the BRAZZO HOP mate?
Ответитьmy roommate has taken me multiple times and lends me his foam fish. I've been trying to get up but i have no bars 😂. I'm paddling head on to shore though so I think you've just helped me a bunch. going to apply these tips this friday. thanks boys!
ОтветитьFor small waves, skateboarding helped me immensly. This was before the ollie was invented, so I spent a lot of time just surfing the board (turning off the kicktail) down the sidewalk. Most people start off only surfing (on some sort of longboard) and never develop stance, rythm or turn technique. I see a lot of people that can read a wave, stand up and ride down the line, but they look like sloppy shit...especially when they try to turn.
ОтветитьYo I’m im in Delaware my wave are trash
ОтветитьI could just listen to you talk all day lol
Ответитьi go to galveston wish i got those waves
ОтветитьMy favorite takeaways from this video:
#1 angle take off and add some extra paddle for speed
#2 stay in pocket
#3 be light on your feet as if skipping so you can surf rail to rail and maintain rhythm and flow of the wave
#4 hopping your board up and down is ugly and inefficient in generating speed (maintain patience)
#5 surfing small waves is hard. surfing big waves is easy
can u mention time where he dived in the wave i saw that video in tumbnail short video pls give timing of that cool thing
ОтветитьWhere is the pocket exactly?
ОтветитьWhats up with this loud ass music in the background
ОтветитьIf in doubt take the log out
ОтветитьSmall
ОтветитьTHOSE ARE SMALL!?
ОтветитьGreat tips! Thank you guys
ОтветитьAwesome vid !!
Ответитьi grew up surfing Florida as well. Different level of small-wave surfing!
Ответитьwhen you said "skipping" you meant do this in wave ?
ОтветитьWhat are you guys riding in this video?
ОтветитьI do not know how to 🏄♂️
ОтветитьLearn to balance with your breath before on a board. Surf closest to the shore first, and make the most of that, before you explore some more
ОтветитьI've been checking out a few of their vids and spot on so far. I'm intermediate-ish to KOOK depending on the day LOL. Getting used to small wave surfing here in Brunei and this vid nails it all 👍.
I'm constantly going back and watching "how to" stuff to try and stop bad habits occurring.
Cheers guys 👍🌊🏄
Nice tips! It's also a good idea to get yourself a groveller style board, something super short a bit wider than usual.
ОтветитьThese guys need to lose some weight or surf bigger boards
ОтветитьSkimboarders build tons of speedy by hopping the nose. It doesn't work on highly rockered boards.
ОтветитьTwo things with this video, the waves really aren't that small, and the section about patience, I saw two sections worth doing a top turn or little air off of. Think if you come and surf Florida, you will see really good small wind swell surfing versus waist to shoulder high groundswell surfing.
ОтветитьThose boards look really good...can't do any of the above without the right equipment
ОтветитьThanks, helpful vid for fine tuning my small beachy surfing
ОтветитьBeen surfing for 5 years and I am about to start competing! Any tips for 2-4ft waves?
ОтветитьThis was a good video
ОтветитьGreat video, helped a lot. What beach is this?
ОтветитьGreat and useful vídeo bros
ОтветитьThank you! I am just learning and this has given me some great things to work on
ОтветитьNice vid guys. You should link the first small wave vid via annotation link or something.
ОтветитьFirst, love the vids
