In 1989 I was working 1/2 the year at Bell Atlantic Sorbus and the other 1/2 at Digital Equipment Corporation as an IT Field Engineer on-site at DuPont and huge pharmaceutical companies, installing and maintaining laptops, desktops, and servers. Can’t tell you how many installs, upgrades, and software service calls forcLotus 1-2-3 and WordPerfect running on Windows 3.0/3.1 and blue screen of death. Novell certifications ruled the industry. Ethernet was thick coax with terminators.

I rember wanting a computer in the 90s as everyone told me games were so much better on PC than consoles. Now I have computers everywhere, there is a laptop that sits by my elliptical I only use for listening to music because emy mp3 player died.

Coming in at a feather-light 25 kilograms, you can carry this computer around just like your living room sofa.

I had access, via work, to a Compaq "portable" computer in the late 80's. It was a 286 with a built in CRT color monitor. It was more of a LUGGABLE computer, but it definitely was portable.
