ОтветитьThank You so much... Your video was very helpful.
Ответитьamazing way of teaching but it is really helpful if you share this lesson on MS Word file
ОтветитьGreat work. But “outside” isn’t a noun in this sentence, and therefore not an object. Objects are usually nouns or noun phrases.
.”Outside” is used as an adverb here, and “of the window” is a prepositional phrase - combined they form an Adverbial phrase (which is represented in sentence structure as an “A”).
So, the correct sentence structure should be SVA not SVO.
There is no object in this sentence since “looks” at this point here is an intransitive verb....The boy looks outside of the window...the prepositional phrase of outside of the window functions as a adverbial phrase modifies the verb looks.....
ОтветитьThanks a lot
ОтветитьThank you. It helps me a lot to understand my course about English Syntax.
ОтветитьUse of full stop, comma etc. is the pattern and also sequence which is order of the language. Syntax means rules of the language.
Languages should ideally be about communication and not conversation. Communication makes connections. Conversation makes relations.
Along with diction, syntax is a fundamental part of written language. Syntax states the rules for using words, phrases, clauses and punctuation, specifically to form sentences. ... Correct syntax examples include word choice, matching number and tense, and placing words and phrases in the right order.
ОтветитьI am not sure 'outside of the window' and 'on the mat' are objects but adverbial phrases. In fact, you can add an object of the action in the first sentence (looked at a tree outside of the window), and not in the second where the cat sat itself.
Ответитьas an english education student, this is really helpful in mastering syntax lessons, many thanks..
ОтветитьIf you gave this a thumbs down, there’s something wrong with you.
ОтветитьMost folk didnt get this info download in elementary school. Because they were so busy playing and learning how to socialize rather than learn totally alien language forms that seemed senseless at that time period in their lives. Syntax is heavily used in symbols of the keyboard to hide matters right before our eyes when it comes to law and courtrooms. They even change the etntire meanings of words due to the use of syntaxting symbols
Ответитьi've been looking for something like this, a new sub here !! thnx u ^^
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI doubt if outside can be the object of the verb looks. Similarly, mat is the object of the preposition not the verb
ОтветитьIn this sentence: The boy looks outside of the window.
"outside of the window" should be preposition phrase and works as the adverbial phrase of the verb "looks" but not the object of the same.
Intelligent and beautiful. You got me.
ОтветитьWhy have I never been taught on this
