We all got so distracted by the shiny blue sword we completely missed what it was telling us. The blade of Olympus. The weapon Kratos used in an act of self-sacrifice. It was TELLING us how to get past the room.

I think rage of Olympus is great

I was AWFULLY surprised with the fact that he gained the Blade of Olympus again.

This implies that throughout his Journey with Atreus, he has never used his God Powers at all, thats why he was able to summon the Blade after all this time, i believe he still haven't used his God powers yet

I know this is a dumb question, but did kratos really regain the blade of Olympus, or did Valhalla remade the blade from kratos' memory and can only use it in Valhalla story-wise?

I like the blade of olympus being here, i think its cool as FUCK and a great reward for completing the dlc, but i almost rather they didnt.

Its reveal is just so hollow to me. He gets it out of nowhere, he does not comment on it, no one comments on it, it just happens and now its just there, with no story significance. That sword was forged with the blood of an entire Pantheon and its "just there now?" Really? Thats the best you could do? Santa Monica did so damn good with the rest of the two games and this is what they skimp on? I hate to sound like "that one fan" but i mean come on, not one person, not even Mimir, says "oh btw Kratos whats with that giant glowing blue sword?" Not even Helios says anything and he's right tf there! Wtf??

And now that its here, so anticlimactically, it rules out them ever using it as some sort of inportant piece of narrative. I mean yeah, using it as a mcguffin would be cheap, but at least it would put some weight on the reveal, y'know? Now if they want to make it important again in the future they'll have to essentially say "yeah just pretend you didnt see it back in Raganarok: Valhalla, thats not canon anymore lol"

Idk i just think they dropped the ball in this instance. Im not trying to say they should have done more, heavens know how tight they were on the budget as is, im just saying that something that significant should be given extra care, instead of just being slapped in for some fan service.

Omg Kratos choosing to kill Helios again is beyond cold, even if he thinks he's an illusion Valhalla punishing him by choosing another life (arguably of equal value) is quite deserved

I knew it was coming. I knew he would somehow get the Blade of Olympus again at some point even if he had to somehow go aaaall the way back to Greece. I knew that blade would show up in the Norse region at some point.

You know…. How did Helios even become the sun god? How did any of the pantheon get their position? They were just born with those powers? Is this unique to Greece? Because if not, then why are Norse gods seemingly got birthed the normal way… and their powers are also seemingly random while slightly connected to their parents…. So if that’s how it works in Greece…. Who was Helios’ parents and why couldn’t any of them be replaced like Kratos seemingly replaces a god of war… AGAIN… and even changes his “position” or whatever and is the god of hope
