Opening and Cleaning My Old PS4... (First Time Ever)

How about never opening it for 10 years, because I just opened mine up for the first time after that long. My OG PS4 was just like yours, never sitting on the ground or enclosed. It sits on a table out in the open. The results were pretty much identical to yours, but read on if you want the details.

First off all, I only took the back and hard drive covers off. I wasn't comfortable getting any further into it, and from what little dust I found I think it would have been very unnecessary. The back cover itself had some dust inside, but it was fairly minimal. It was just enough to be easily noticeable. Hard drive area had no dust, nor did the hard drive itself. The fan had minimal dust, just like the inside of the back cover. However, the dust was all sitting on the top of the blades. I used a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to wipe them off. I then took the console to the outside porch and used an air blower on the fan to make sure there wasn't anymore dust. Although I hadn't seen any more, a puff of dust did indeed come out of the fan when I blew it out, but again it was minimal. I found no dust using my air blower elsewhere around the console. So I think it was worth taking the cover off and cleaning it out, but not by a whole lot. Maybe I'll get a tiny boost in performance, but I'll be surprised if I do because I really don't think there was enough dust to effect it much at all.

im reaching out for any help i can get. ive seen dozens of videos and none come apart like mine. im looking to service the power supply but bottom cover doesnt come off (not 3 screws just 1 in the center. and yes i looked for the others but where they show tape covered screws mine has louvers)

So just to confirm because you I may have missed if u said it or not but did u flip it upside down after you put the cover back to the hard drive side of the PS4?

I bought an original PS4 from Gamestop just yesterday, I opened it up and the thing looked almost immaculate, just a bit of dust, but not nearly enough to make you think it's 10 years old, the thing hadn't ever been opened either because the Warranty sticker was still in tact
