this lick and the lick that's similar in E minor that he teaches in a separate video that's older has unlocked the fret board for me. Paul is the best teacher and hands down the most rounded guitar player in the world.
ОтветитьThe riff doesn't do it for me, at all. Not something I'd like to play or hear. I really love how Paul teaches it though :)
Ответитьuh, Paul, you're getting a bit senile. It was never your shoulder. It was always your bicep turning your forearm with some wrist action. Go watch LICKS LICKS LICKS again. You'll remember!
ОтветитьReminds me of something of the Jeff Beck "Blow by Blow" album
ОтветитьAwesome..love ya man !!
ОтветитьPaul is always so fun to watch. He oozes guitar passion.
ОтветитьI've been doing it wrong for years! It's in the shoulders!😆🤘🏼
ОтветитьGreat lesson from a master. I feel I owe him money.
Ответитьpaul i love you thanks for this mortal lick... love from france
ОтветитьPaul Gilbert is GOD!
ОтветитьPaul you are awesome but sorry man, this is an ugly ass guitar.
ОтветитьJ'adore ce mec, juste génial
ОтветитьI wonder if Paul was ever into Automatic Man, a band that featured Pat Thrall? Gilbert is an amazing musician, love the guy.
ОтветитьOld man Gilbert trying to be cool
ОтветитьFor trying not to sound like Yngwie most of the notes hes playing are actually in E harmonic minor :P It's Like the 7th mode with 2 extra cromatic notes. Cool
ОтветитьHumble man
ОтветитьGreat teacher too.
Ответитьhe sounds like david letterman
ОтветитьPaul's pattern is applicable in every little phrase
Adore this great guitar player
That Pat Travers live album, Go For What You Know, is such a milestone - blew me away then and still does...
Pat's material was so much more adventurous than the blues-oriented albums he later did...
This licks reminds me king of the monster racer x guitar solo..
ОтветитьThat man's pinky is longer than my first finger. Love Paul and the Pats.
Ответитьdamn funny u mention Go for what you know ,, i was jus thinking about travers after watching your not to meander video and here u mention it haha its my my favourite live album, love that u were into travers man so cool
ОтветитьDid Paul just watch Kill Bill and then make this?
Ответить“Go For What You Know” was an AMAZING album and one of the most influential for me - so glad to hear it get mentioned here!
ОтветитьI love this man. He’s got a good vibe about him.
ОтветитьThis is the way to teach real guitar...
Ответить"I made one big huge scale out of them" - Excellent !
ОтветитьTruly awesome! Thank you Paul!
ОтветитьPaul knows all!! came here after reading the comment section of one of my faverite newly discovered songs Stevie by Pat Traverse. Man that's one of the best slower songs in the hole wide world :) peace out from Canada Québec.
ОтветитьGREAT Travers lp.
ОтветитьPat Travers Band "Go for what you know" live is one of the best live guitar driven rock albums. Pat Travers and Pat Thrall had some of the best guitar driven rock of the 70's.
ОтветитьNo. I am not so bold! This bit is giving me something to do on a rainy California day. Thanks PG
ОтветитьMost I've ever learned
Ответить💛💜
ОтветитьNever seen one of his lessons. He's as good a teacher as he is a player. Simply amazing!
ОтветитьAlright let’s try that again with some enthusiasm this time😆
ОтветитьGreat lick and video, awesome teacher and player, Love Pat Travers!
ОтветитьPaul I was lucky enough to meet you in 1998, you gave me a crucial hint for a good slow vibrato that changed my playing. Your statement here about Bruce Bouillet shows how great you are once again 🎸🎸🎸
ОтветитьGot to see Travers/Thrall in 1980 and Randy in 1981...
ОтветитьSo basically Dorian with the flat 5 from the blues scale and a major 3rd added, giving you a 9 note scale that uses the common major/minor shifts in blues (3rd and 5th). Very cool.
ОтветитьSO great. Not quite the harmonic minor scale but it has that flavor. Sounds amazing when you swing it.
ОтветитьI never herd him sweer on utube hes got class
ОтветитьPaul is such an underrated guitarist .
ОтветитьWhat are the chord inversions on putt'in it strait it's not a d, it's not an e , it's got these weird extra notes that add flavor
What are they?
w
Pat Travers wrote a guitar tutorial book called 'Improvising Rock Guitar' which came with a little flexi disc to pop on your record player..great..Travers is a great guitarist,Check out his interview with Rick Beato
ОтветитьNobody influenced my learning of guitar as a kid , in the mid 70s, more than Pat Thrall 🙏
ОтветитьAfter you watch, give this video a thumbs up and subscribe! 😎🤘
