An absolute great video on essential tips. We are a grp of photographers and intend to visit Deadvlei. One of our interest is astro photography, ie shooting star trails and milkway using the trees as back drop. How is it possible to stay for the night (some star trails may take 3 hrs or more) since the 2nd gate closes ard 8pm if we understand correctly. Are we allowed to stay inside?

One thing they forgot to mention crime, which is fairley high, best time to vacation is May thru September, otherwise its very hot.

Hi, do you have to book all the campsites in advance? Can we find a spot if we just show up at the campgound?

I bugged my eyes a second at a $400 campsite but then I remembered ZAR is about 10:1 in USD

Assuming those prices were in Namibia money, that's not expensive at all, at least not by California standards. 😂 But it depends which part of the country you're staying in. Accommodation in Windhoek is cheaper than in the coastal areas.

What about tipping culture? It seems in a lot of African countries they want tips for EVERYTHING.

Gondwana collection has a great variety of lodges around Namibia. Must try restaurants, WINDHOEK: Plant’D (vegan), Joe’s Beerhouse, Livega, the Stellenbosch wine bar and restaurant (best steaks), Kubata (great seafood), Daishu’s Sushi and wine bar, Olivia’s kitchen, Krisjan’s bistro, Rocco Mama’s, Cape Town Fish Market, Col’Cacchio and News Cafe. SWAKOPMUND: Fork N Nice (food truck), BlueGrass restaurant, Jetty 1905, the Fish Deli, the Wreck, the Tug, Cordes and Co, Swakopmund Waffelhaus, Tiger Reef, Two Beards and a Saint and the Village. Namibia is a must visit!
