It’s important to understand history. Not because of the lessons, necessarily… but the inherent beauty of mankind’s struggle to civilize… The Gauls, The Romans, The Huns, The Vikings etc… an amalgam, guilty of progress…. Im proud of my Gallic roots, look forward to learning more.
ОтветитьVery nice like all your video's!
ОтветитьUnfortunately you missed to show in your video the very beautiful old city of Lyon!
ОтветитьI wonder if Rick Steves is still proud of the fact that he urged American voters to vote for Biden late in the campaign. I know he was recruited and paid cash under the table to do so. I am willing to forgive him if he comes clean and admits he was deadly wrong to support Biden-America's WORST president in US history.
ОтветитьSuch a refreshing type of travel vlogs. Humble.
ОтветитьHi Rick, when you did the 60 mile hike in Mont Blanc where did you start and finished? Did the company you used let you pick the days and route? My husband and I would love to do this hike for our 10th year anniversary. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks Rick & keep on traveling ✈️
ОтветитьOMG so pretty , I need to go !
ОтветитьHello 😸💗
ОтветитьThanks for your presentation of Lyon, where I actually live. And Chamonix, city that I love, and one of the best ski resort : Les Brévents.
All positives thinkings for your work. Congrats.
And of course, congrats for testing les escargots and les tripes. Can I recommend "Le tablier de sapeur" , "cervelle de canuts" ^^
Can you get to Chamonix by train?
ОтветитьMany thanks to Rick and all the people involved in this video production. I have seen many, many videos of this channel, and never been disappointed in any. This episode is definitely one of the many best.
ОтветитьLyon wes part of the vichi and government. They were nazi.
ОтветитьWhat an interesting program—although I could have done without the alarmist, sensational climate change PSA from Oregon Public TV.
ОтветитьAnnecy, france was it ever covered on rick steves videos , can anyone share info plz
ОтветитьOMG get your French pronunciation right. Pathetic !
ОтветитьThank you! This was such an inspiring video and has made me think I'd love to do a hike with my granddaughter in a few years. Looks incredible. I'm loving watching your videos as I plan my next European holiday - the first in 18 years! So informative and well researched. Cheers.
ОтветитьI love Rick Steve’s Europe
ОтветитьMer de glace
Ответитьbonne nuit from Rochelle
ОтветитьRick misses out on cosplaying as a wizard while hiking in the french alps, you should totally dress up for this opportunity, just imagine the view of mount blanc and the endless valley as the background while you walk into the mountains, that is so lord of the rings.
ОтветитьThanks Rick Steves
ОтветитьBeautiful video 💕
ОтветитьI love your videos, thank you! A little funny to hear you making a documentary about the French Alps, and Chamonix, without even mentioning that it is the greatest ski destination in the world!
ОтветитьWe're heading to Chamonix in two days. Thanks Rick for this great information
ОтветитьWelp, I know where I want to go on my next trip... Thanks Rick!
ОтветитьOne of the original travel bloggers❤
ОтветитьI fell asleep watching this video and dreamed I was everywhere Rick described. I was so mad when I woke up and realized I was still at home 😫 Love these videos!! ❤️
Ответитьare hikers allowed to camp along the trail? none of the info I looked but didn't mention anything.
ОтветитьDo they not teach climate science in schools anymore? Climate has never been fixed in the entire history of the universe. Yes, change is NORMAL.
ОтветитьThanks Rick!
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьChamonix - Lyon in 1h ?! Google Maps tells me 2h35.
ОтветитьWhat would Rick Steves say without mentioning climate change. If he looks back a few thousand years, glaciers advanced and retreated endlessly. Of course that is not who he is!
ОтветитьIs visiting alps in November 3rd week a good idea??
ОтветитьFantastic video, thanks
ОтветитьExcellent content, Rick!
ОтветитьFrance 🇫🇷🇫🇷 is truly an amazing and interesting country there's a place for everyone regards of what your type no wonder it is the world's most visited country coming from the Philippines.
Ответить❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьGood i Like you
ОтветитьBon appetite a tout le monde ( French baguette, fromage, win) sont tres bon.
ОтветитьWhat a dream. I have been to the Swiss Alps and French Alps, but not the Italian or Austrian Alps, yet!
ОтветитьI love your blithe, unembarrassed, American mispronunciations.
“Mount blank”😂
Thank you million times .. you give me the courage to go for it 😌😌🙏🏼🙏🏼🤍
ОтветитьSo people walking through a glacier have no negative effects but my car is melting it?
ОтветитьWhich route did he choose?
ОтветитьWe got this from Laurie. It’s about Lyon and Chamonix!
ОтветитьThis may be an unpopular opinion but I find Lyon much better than Paris. It does not have the overcrowded and confused environment of Paris and I found people more friendly. Also, some buildings in areas of the city (e.g., Belcour) had similar architectures to famous streets in Paris and very appealing.
Ответитьawesome content
ОтветитьIm trying to follow your example as a travel content creator, but having a regular job, it is not easy to find enough time to create great content, but I'm doing my best 🙂
ОтветитьMy favorite episode.
