You can just keep the controller connected to your Xbox console no need to connect it to the phone

I'm so disappointed. I thought remote play meant. I could play my Xbox games hundreds of miles away off of my phone. Not just turning my phone into a TV screen while still at the house.

If I bought a portable gaming monitor (I see alot at 15 inches) could I do this to the monitor?

Does the Xbox have a sort of "standby" feature whereby I don't have to have it on necessarily for remote play? I simply ask bc it feels a little weird to have the Xbox working at regular capacity while I'm using remote play.
