I don't see how visualizing dealing with a negative distraction is a good positive vision. I have been visualizing doing the positive actions to get results. This puts me in a positive mindset to actually do the work. I have an if-then-plan to deal with distractions and problems that may come up; I don't dwell on that. The if-then-then plan can be done after reflection and study. Visualization to me is a sacred moment to unlock our true potential; no need to put any kind of negativity in it, in my opinion. Why does he call other techniques stupid? What may work for one may not work for another, as we are individuals in different environments. "Learn to say No" to distractions is the meaning, not your boss. Test it all and see what works best for you.

ОтветитьI've learned that if I just assure myself that whatever bad feeling I'm having... Will not last forever, the pain usually stops almost instantly. It works for everything, from being hungry, having a head ache, stomach ache etc.

ОтветитьA lot of ideas that work and are important but this guy Nir Eyal has a few contradictions in his approach to building a healthy daily schedule. So lots of unreachable /unattainable behaviors that are just out of reach to take action. Some way too complicated theories.
Everything he's talking about also is to promote his book. Also, you can combine a to do list to reach goals with scheduling as an example. Nir Eyal has gotten himself into extreme and comprehensive waters, too much unfortunately for people to exclusively commit to.
