Ah the old 60s Karate Chop to the back of the neck to knock someone out. Watching these old 60's shows like TOS and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea it's amazing how many times it's one Karate chop to the back of the neck and the person is instantly knocked out for a convenient amount of time.

I always took the respirator in the scene as some kind of futuristic oxygen delivery mask... somehow oxygen could be highly concentrated in the cylinder at the front.

Little tidbit you may not know...I attended a star trek convention in Philadelphia at the Bellview Stratford hotel in 1976. At the end we were leaving and all these veterans were arriving. Later several died. It was a new virus, Later called leagners disease. Almost trekie disease...

James Gregory was amazing in this episode. One of my favorite Trek guest stars (and character actors in general.) I also love that unused shot of the Enterprise from the second pilot. Great video! 🖖

Thanks for showing Dagger. The one that drives me crazy is when Kirk is in the treatment chair, Dr Adams is talking to Kirk and the male assistant is next to Dr Adams. Helen cuts the power, the beam stops, and Kirk knocks out both Dr Adams and his assistant. Dr Adams collapses next to the chair and the assistant collapses in the far corner. Plainly visible. Later on after Spock restores power and they all return to the the treatment room. Adams is dead but the assistant in no where to be seen. He should be still knocked out or dead himself. I guess he woke up and was was glad to see Adams was dead and ran away. Also they never explain why Adams is making all the patients into automatons.
