the side dish is a heart attack
ОтветитьThe sidedish for me is already a meal
ОтветитьGuga I watch your videos and I will say you are the real deal.
You never leave details out. And I know everything you show is just about right everytime.
Thanks!
Charcoal always wins!
ОтветитьCharcoal 😉👍
ОтветитьShould of thrown in the cast-iron.. i love my cast-iron and have been curious to which is better
ОтветитьJust put some wood on the indirect charcoal. Always sear with charcoal.
ОтветитьUsing the torch and side burner wasn’t fair
ОтветитьNothing like real wood
ОтветитьBeen grilling for 30+ years now. Tried about anything and everything to try to get a steak from a gas grill to have even halfway comparable to one cooked over charcoal, with no luck. Gas is great I guess if you're in a hurry, etc etc. But if you're going to spend good hard earned money on your steak cuts, then you should put the extra time and effort into grilling over charcoal. To me, a steak grilled over a gas grill is just a waste of money
ОтветитьBest steak I ever cooked was offset smoked for about 40-45 min, then moved over the fire cooked on a flame until a nice crust was formed.
ОтветитьIf you ask hank hill……
ОтветитьCharcoal or wood give great meat indeed. But gas is handy, you fire it up and you're ready. Also, that smoke feature is really nice!
I enjoyed the video! Thanks Guys!
"the dryer it is, the better it's gonna be" me and every girls I've beeen with would disagree🙃😁
ОтветитьI mean smoke a steak on an egg at 200 then let it rest once it hits 100 then crank it it 500 then sear. I love slide vide. What about you smoke a 3” choice ribeye then Sous vide and then sv gun??
ОтветитьI’d like to see an offset wood smoker vs a pellet smoker.
ОтветитьPropane/butane steak 😢
ОтветитьWhy are you calling the first one a gas grilled steak? It's griddled. Just like if you cooked it in a frying pan. Wouldn't you want to do it over grates? That would be gas grilled.
ОтветитьVery hot charcoal
ОтветитьA good gas grill needs to be "seasoned". Guga's gas grill looked unused. if you "clean" a grill like you do cast iron, you will notice the flavor closes the gap with charcoal grilling.
ОтветитьLol you can do a smoked steak on charcoal easy and still have the sear on it high heat smoke
ОтветитьI knew Charcoal would be the chosen steak. I do not really like the taste that charcoal imparts on the meat. I prefer propane because you get a cleaner tasting steak where the seasonings' taste shines. When I'm doing dry BBQ, I prefer hardwood smoked. On a propane grill, you can make a smoker box and offset it to the right and grill on the left. For me, I mostly do the indirect grilling method on my propane 3 burner grill where I start the center and left burner set to medium and the right burner set to highest. Once I get a nice sear using the right burner, I turn the left and center burners to low and the right burner to medium-low and move the meat to the far left. As long as the steak is seasoned well, it doesn't need anything else.
ОтветитьGas grilled steak lacks a soul
ОтветитьClean your mouth up
ОтветитьThe open flame makes a big difference, so I think it's a little unfair that you didn't cook it on an open flame on the gas grill. That being said, the charcoal probably would have still won, but let the gas grill still have a fighting chance.
ОтветитьI’m so hungry now
ОтветитьI am completely new to the charcoal grilling scene end. I must say I have never had the best steak in my life until I have charcoal a grill a.k.a. Smoke a steak on A. Charcoal grill and by far I give the biggest thank you.
And so much love to the heavens the gods of the meat who invented the charcoal grills because oh my God it has changed my life and I will not go back?
OMG, these side dishes bro...
ОтветитьI eat the steak plus the charcoal itself to get max flavor
ОтветитьDoesn’t the garlic powder burn if put at the beginning?
ОтветитьNow try it again but use a pellet smoker that has the sear plate.
ОтветитьMy wife says he needs to make a video of just the cheese twist! 😆
Ответитьguga is the only man alive to use the most complicated words to exist and also make the dumbest, smallest gramatical errors known to man
ОтветитьI'm personally most intrigued by a smoked steak.
ОтветитьAnything but GAS
ОтветитьQue Hank Hill saying “Taste the meat! Not the heat!”
ОтветитьBACON AND CHEESE! 100% WOW‼️
Ответитьsad you didnt do gas over open flame, Its worlds apart from doing a flat top.
Ответитьas a korean.. korean short ribs on non stick pan vs gas grill vs kamado joe charcoal.... the difference is incredible.
ОтветитьBut for testing a steak it is way better too use a gas grill to taste the Meat flavor
ОтветитьI've never smoked a steak, I make beef jerky in my smoker....never steak...I'm in my sixties so I've cooked many steaks over my years on earth, and the very best is cast iron, hands down. Why? high heat sear, this seals in the juices and gives the best results. The pan needs to be smoking hot, yes smoking...I use olive or avocado oil to coat the meat then add my seasoning, which includes; seasoning salt, garlic salt, keg or Montreal steak spice, fresh ground pepper....pat these onto both sides...next I insert a meat thermometer into one steak or both, I can get up to four. 120f for med.rare, 125f for med. 130f well done. Please don't ever cook well done! Lol....let rest five to eight minutes...add a dab of butter to top of steaks when resting....enjoy the best steak ever...
ОтветитьI wanna practice so much to get the charcoal just right but I only have a propane stove at my place
ОтветитьI don't even have to watch the end, charcoal wins everytime
ОтветитьShould have compared to a butter based cast iron. Flavor is different but the crust is superior. Also, Guga why do you not use more finishing salts? They can really elevate a steak. Really good video, thank you!
ОтветитьI agree charcoal is the way forward. But you get loads of gas bbq fans saying it's a myth that it's better. I don't understand it. They're totally wrong.
ОтветитьI just noticed your cushions at the book look like steaks. Cool.
ОтветитьCooking steak over an open hardwood fire is highly underrated and creates some of the best tasting steak you can cook.
ОтветитьI’m sold on using my smoker with reversed sear
ОтветитьWho uses a flat top to cook a steak on a gass bbq that has a grill? I use both gas and charcoal but tend towards gas for ease of use. Cooking on both, yes charcoal slightly better for flavor but the difference is negligible and i find sometimes if the charcoal isnt high quality the steak can end up tasting artificial. At least you get consistently good with gas grill.
ОтветитьI won't lie.. kinda wish there was more gas grill stuff on here. But it's also all I got lol. I always put my steak on the indirect side till about 80° then over the flame till 135ish.
