I remember watching the original X-Men movie in the 2000's and the intro scene with Magneto's parents being taken away in the prison camp was the best way to develop an understanding of Magneto.

Magneto is up there as one of my favorite comic book villains once you learn about him he’s easy to understand why he has so much hatred and vitriol built up inside of him for humanity

I totally relate to magneto and just everyone in the X-Men universe because of just not just the religious stuff but the prejudice and being outlawed just for being born different and because I’m a product of a mixed race marriage and so I don’t look completely white I don’t look completely black if I look more Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, and a very light skinned girl with very dark hair and eyes. I really don’t look like African-American at all And so it’s like you can’t really belong in anywhere so you belong with the misfits the outlaws and the X-Men the X-Men has everything from that humans and mutants trying to tear the world apart. Then you have people that deal with magic like joke or not, or not people thought that he was a mutant but actually he has a magical helmet that makes him super powerful And scary and magneto is a very complex character. Magneto lost his family in World War II and I can relate to that because my family has been in the military, both in medical and as a soldier and as a secret spy, so I can really relate to the loss and grief that both military families and military soldiers and scientists and preachers and medical people and just everyone was in the war effort I understand the hardships and the pain and, the childhood trauma leave of having your family taken in a very gruesome way so I really understand Benito and I don’t see him as the villain anymore. I see him as an antihero instead or a tortured or tortured villain.

If I’m not mistaken the whole Magneto helmet blocking mind reading was picked up from the live action movies and implemented into his comic lore. Cause that’s something that made sense as why magneto always wore a helmet.

Easily one of best and well writed comic book characters ever. Magneto is far away from being a cliche villain with blatant reasons to be a "bad guy".
Every action from Magneto was always on point and you can't even argue about that with him.
