Have you ever ridden an ultra endurance event or distance?
ОтветитьI use beach cruiser style bike and can do long distance comfortably with a wide saddle
ОтветитьI occasionally revisit this video to inspire myself during my PhD journey.
ОтветитьMark’s tyres were obviously wider than Simon’s. Is this an advantage or a disadvantage on a ride like this? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьI’m 70 and have ridden multiple centuries and over 2500 miles in the first half of 2023.
I would guess that’s endurance for me. 😊
Live in the moment and the miles simply fly by. ❤
What a great video
ОтветитьI wish to see an episode of how you would use full suspension mountain bikes for a long-distance road/tarmac ride aside from keep using road bike frames. 🤔
It would also be interesting to see the difference in average speed and watts between road bikes and full suspension bikes on the road.
This is brilliant...we are three retired rugby players definately not built for road cycling. Saying that, we did a huge 500 miles in 6 days back in 2001 for charity. This year on the 4th August we then cycle 500 miles within 48 hours. A very different challenge from the last one, and hopeflly one where we can raise a good amount of money for charity.....any advice you could give for a more veluptous rider would be greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьA lot of decent advice. Ibuprofen is dangerous stuff and completely agree.
Ответитьso so helpful
ОтветитьThanks for sharing...
Distance is not measured by time alone... Im only allowed too use this many watts for 4,,, 8,,, or 12 hours...
And I need too have 50 % reserve at the end of the day... that way it can carry you too the next 50% for the next day....... ect.......
If We never burn then infinite is a continuation of end-less... We are the only ones that get too decide how much effort is needed or not...
There's no need for me too Pedal beyond 12 hours because tommrow has another 12 hours,,, every day beyond that has 12 hours too...
Eventually you'll get too where your going...
I carry no fiscal watch or odometer,,, just too pins,,, one where i started,,, one where """"my"""" day ends... I never ride other pepoles rides because I don't allow other too ride mine...
Just the way it is...
Now get out there and crank...
Life's that simple you know...
Cheers All
The key to all-day comfort: flat bars w/ ergo bar ends. ...thank me later.
ОтветитьHi I’ve done the Paris Brest Paris 3 times. Going back this year. Love your great tips!!!
ОтветитьI still miss Sí and Matt. However this vid gives me hope to do a long ride but what I need to do is work and train better. 75-100 mi per day is about my limit
ОтветитьI think part of the scare for me doing long distance (12 miles round trip to school) is that the boredom. The first month of me cycling to school, it's amazing. I get to see new things. But those things are old quickly. Then, the fifth week, I am keeping myself busy by blasting music from my phone. It does not last long before I am back to bored. I need to find ways to make it interesting.
Right now, I am planning to pack a small, delicious meal to be eaten midway. Maybe, it's something to keep me looking forward to so it's less boring?
I was only looking at that beautiful landscape and pretended not to listen to those figures!!😁
ОтветитьEvery time i see the first min , i get goosebumps
ОтветитьBest tip if you just want to finish something really long and scary - Pedal the uphills and coast the downhills, all of them, always. You won't go much faster downhill anyway and the recovery you get while coasting is massive. What slows you down is going up, so imagine being rested before each uphill because you coasted down the last one.
Ответитьgood
ОтветитьJust take your time and relax and enjoy the ride + drink and eat well , rest well …
ОтветитьIm 5”5 what is size for me
