Too bad that Simon Whistler doesn't care enough to learn how to pronounce names correctly or at least as close to the correct pronunciations as possible for him. For example, the 'x' in Aztec names is pronounced like the English 'sh', so the city is pronounced "tlash-KA-la." Next, Mr. Whistler destroyed the name of the Aztec capital. He said "Teh-no-CHIT-lan," whereas the name is really "Teh-noch-TIT-lan." In addition, at the end of all Aztec words (the language is called Nahuatl, by the way) that end in "-tl," the accepted pronunciation when not pronouncing it 100% as the Aztecs did is to pronounce both letters. Mr. Whistler gives that ending the sound of "ee" for some bizarre reason. For example, he calls the weapon the "mah-KAH-wi-tee." This is an unbelievable mispronunciation! The weapon is actually called the "mah-kwa-WEET-l." I'm embarrassed for how poorly Mr. Whistler pronounced just about all the names in this video. It certainly doesn't show a level of professionalism I'd expect from him.
