what is the size bus bar you have used please? it isn't listed in the Recommended Components list and you don't mention the size in your video. I'm a total newbie with solar and would appreciate this information. There are so many choices on Amazon with different amps, volts, options.

Hey Will, I have a 2000W PSW inverter, but it is for a 12v system. Is there any way it can be used in a 24v system? Can I somehow boost it to 24v? Thanks!

Instead of using that 24 to 12 converter couldn't you just hook to the center positive to pull your 12v?

Thank you for tackling something 24V! There is a large community of folks that have ex-military vehicles that have either straight 24v or dual 12V/24V systems so this will be a big help. While I’m not making a camper on my truck, many other owners are so this would be helpful.

I know this video is old, but you're blowing my mind it looks like you're feeding the inverter more so from the charge controller opposed to the battery Bank? (even though it's all the same positive cable but you're tapping and closer to the CC and on top of battery protect). Also the victron battery protect pdf/info says that you're not suppose to use it in-line with the inverter and if it gets damaged while doing so then it's not covered under warranty.
I'm a master electrician and electrical contractor but there is some seriously conflicting info here and now I'm stuck until i solve this.

This is almost the same as the 24v system I'm building. I noticed you had removed the Victron battery protect for some reason. From your parts list. My inverter has a low voltage cut off of 20v and I read somewhere that this is too low and will kill my SOK 24v battery. I know the battery has a BMS that will shut down the battery before that but I don't think this should be it's primary protection. What else can I use to protect my battery? Anyone?

I like Will's videos but I do not like the way he never responds to any questions about any of the videos. Like on the blueprint link of this one he has do not use the battery protect but offers no explanation , like it is not needed because the batteries have that built in , chargers have protections built in ! Might as well not ask here , he has a chat room and I'm sure there are people there with lots of knowledge. Not trying to be critical if you read this Will , I'm sure you feel you just don't have time.

Note: the new tax law allows for a 30% solar tax credit on your energy storage components IF it has a capacity of 3kwh or more. At 12V, that's 250hwh. So you could add a third battery and potentially recoup the entire cost on your taxes. You can also buy 250ah or 300ah batteries that should qualify.

My solar array consists of twelve 195w panels connected to a six-string PV Combiner Box, for a 24v system, to a 3500w PowMr solar charger inverter, currently with four 12v 100ah Sealed lead acid batteries ( I would like to upgrade to Lithium batteries with to at least double my storage capacity). Which is better, 12v batteries at 100 ah, hooked in the same manner my SLA batteries are configured, or would 24 v batteries be better? And if 12 v or 24 v batteries are recommended, which ah rating... 100, 200, 250? and which BMS rating...100, 200, 250?
As soon as I think I've got it figured out, I watch another video that doesn't quite answer my question and I get confused all over again.

Great video, always enjoy your information. Can you wire 6 12v 100ah lithium batteries to get 300ah for a 24v system? Series parallel of course. I've been told lithium doesn't work well in that configuration. Is that why you only have 2 12v batteries? I bought 6 weize lifepo4 lithium and plan on wiring to bus bar each 24v set for a total of 300ah. I haven't seen any of your videos showing that many wired in series parallel. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

Thanks for the video. Would this be a good setup to run a washing machine once a day, 120 volt - 15 amp - 1800 watts? I think there are 3 eletrical basic minimum things most people need to get by with life mostly normal: small fridge freezer, communications / internet and washing machine. Cooking can be done in many non-eletric options so assuming your in city water, I think these are the three primary items most people need. If you could make a setup designed to cover these basics I think that would be awesome!
