Hi-Fi Audio As Fast As Possible

Some of us really do hear a little clearer. Audible people are not visual learners. They listen. I prefer high quality audio. I always get excellent hearing test results at my job. I think there might be something to this. Not for everyone.

I just got some AKG371 cans and a Shanling UP4 portable DAC/Amp and I'm absolutely hooked. I can't wait to put together a proper system for at home listening.

Turning the bass up to 11 sounds like shit. Sub frequencies are the hardest to tame due to room size. Hell, I spend more time neutering the bass rather than turning it up. Though I have two 550 watt RMS (1100 peak) sealed 12" subwoofers.

Get an internet connection and decent comfortable pair of headphones. Listen to nice music as all these audiophiles showoff their $. Get a nice bottle of wine and chill on a couch with a peaceful view out the window in a room not cluttered with giant speaker, gears, and cable everywhere. I think it's worth pointing out that "hi-fi" encompasses a spectrum of capabilities. You can achieve decent audio quality with a receiver, speakers, and a streaming service. If you were to run high-quality .mp3s through that kind of system, there's a good chance that they'll sound find. Now take those same .mp3s and run it through a system with dedicated preamplifier, amps, and a set of Martin Logan electrostatic speakers and those same .mp3s will likely sound like hot garbage. The problem with getting into higher-end audio is that better designed equipment can be what we call "highly resolving", meaning that it does a better job at processing and amplifying the source material you put into it. If you want to understand why perfectly normal, rational people will invest tens of thousands of dollars into a dedicated 2-channel audio system, take some time to investigate "highly resolving audio system". Once you've heard a capable high-end system, you'll be hooked. Cheers.

There’s so many more “audiophile grade” headphones that have stupid amounts of bass, way more than beats ever could. However they’re not trash or garbage like people here are claiming. The connectivity for iPhones plus an adjustable EQ in the settings are just fine for 80% of people who don’t care much for a balanced sound or like the convenience of buds most real audiophile will agree, beats are ok, AirPods are fine too, you can do better sure, but you can certainly do way worse.

The main goal of Hi-Fi is to separate buyers from their money.
If someone enjoys the music, that is incidental.

What's the difference between Hi Fidelity auido and Hi Res?
And is High Fidelity is still better than Hi Res?
or High Res is now better because it's newer?

It's all too complicated for most people. my first system was back in the early eighties . Polk SDA-1
speakers with Carver M-1 amp and parasound pre amp.
Now sit down and get ready for the source .
A sony walkman pro . When i told the dealer he tried not to laugh . anyway it turned out to be a spectacular combination . I have not heard anything i liked better since . My advice is listen to three or four speakers after reading a bit on the subject , get an amp that the dealer says is adequate for your speakers and go home and enjoy some music . For those that want to make a hobby out of hifi , be prepared to save your money , your going to need a pile of cash.

Don't get into HiFi. It's a rabbit hole you'll never pull yourself out of. Just get a set of quality powered studio monitors and call it a day.

I prefer to explain it this way. Take audio engineering practices and remove the desire to cut production costs and replace it with spare no expense in the manufacturing process.

Every manufacturing decision in consumer audio is about reducing cost and increasing profit.

Now you ate the baseline of audiophile grade equipment. Add some marketing to justify the snake oil and you have the pinnacle of audiophile grade equipment.

Hi fi can be extremely cheap, even cheaper than what Linus is saying. I’m watching this video with kz as-10’s which are 5 driver in ears for $55 on Amazon. They’re comparable to my last expensive home hifi amp speaker combo. Another option is KEF they’re a award winning hi fi brand that’s reasonable in price.

this is incorrect. HiFi is still consumer grade equipment aimed at listening. They do color the sound. Reference monitors are the flat stable platforms professionals use
