What differentiates Japan's debt from that of other countries' is that almost all of its debt is domestically owned. This makes a huge difference on how many levels they can pull to ease their situation.
P.S. Governments' funding does not depend on taxes but on money printing/ sovereign debt issuing. Downsizing the goverments is the right path forward. Good luck with that thought!

This was an expected move. And the Yen is still exchanged at a loss to the dollar compared to 2022.
A 0.15% rate change at BoJ is not moving US stock substantially.
The 0.1% rate high at BoJ in March didn't do anything, and neither did this.
It's not crashing the US market. It dipped like 2%, and it's already back up 1%. And there's an abundance of other volatility factors in play in the same time frame.
Buying on margin should be illegal though.
