When you say "territory vs influence" I have no idea what you mean by influence.

Hello. Thank you for making this. I am playing on the SmartGo Kifu program and trying to graduate to 13x13 and found this very helpful

May I ask what program you are playing in?

FWIW, regarding "I think black should resign if they must invade", I think that's mostly only true if you're playing 4,4 or 5,5. One of my favorite things is to start with 3,3 and then immediately invade as soon as the corners have been taken. Kata doesn't like it, but I've had good success with it against people my level.

What kind of tool or "game version of go" do you use? I liked that thge game suggestest move or highlitghs the green, yellow and bad areas- For me as a total begigner that might help me learn.

Thanks for your time

I am new to Go. The principles you shared help me think differently about my games. Thank you.

Both Katago and Pachi rate E5 as the best opening move on 9x9

I’ve been learning by playing against AI on my phone, and have also been playing 3-3 start on 9x9 board for like 5 years 😅😅😅
Guess I gotta start over now🎉

Thanks a lot for these lessons sensei🙏🏻 i had dropped from 1497 elo in 9x9 back down to 1380...after watching your video and applying your lessons i managed to climb my way back up to 1480 elo through a winning streak of 10 wins and zero defeats😮😮🤯🤯🥳🥳🥳 who knows - with your help maybe i might even crack the threshold to 2nd kyu at 1500 elo that i've been scratching at for so long😅🙈 thanks a lot👍🏻👍🏻!

It sounds like most of these rules don’t apply to larger game boards?

Komi on go quest is 7. I’m new to go, but I’ve been strongly suspecting white to be the much better side because of this

komi is 5.5 on japanese rules and yes some ai s prefer 4,5, then tengen, latest katago switches to 4,4 after some minutes

Could you do a stream playing 9x9 and show us in real time why you are playing certain moves with the advice you included in this video, I would be interested in watching that

My version of Katago, which was the strongest version 6 months ago, prefers Black to open with Takamoku (4,5) instead of Hoskins (4,4), or even Tengen (center) after it reads enough variations.
