Why does this thing's 155mm shells with 9.14kg TNT over pressure EVERYTHING but the FV4005's 183mm HESH shells with 21.76kg TNT don't?

Spookston i dont think its the laser that is inaccurate i think its just the gun that is inaccurate cuz its ment to be used as artillery

... Because it's a fucking howitzer, Spook. Its maximum effective range is literally over the horizon. I don't know much about tanks, but I do know a bit about mortars and artillery, and I know that artillerymen use a lot of math to make sure their trajectory is on target, because if they fuck it up by even a bit they could easily frag entire friendly platoons. Any tool that allows them to be more effective and efficient at measuring range to their target and potentially reduce the amount of work needed to deliver the good word on time is welcome to them. Remember here that SPGs are not primarily used for killing enemy tanks, but fortifications and infantry fighting positions. They have the capability to kill tanks because it's wasteful to devote MBTs or TDs to babysit them on the off chance that enemy armor breaks through the front and makes it fifteen or twenty miles deep to reach your artillery emplacements. If you play an SPG the way it was designed, you're sitting at the spawn point and lobbing shells where you think the enemy tanks are based on the scouting reports coming in from your teammates on your tactical map.

Tbh I find it easier to kill top tier tanks than the actual BR most arty are intended for like I up tier my Type 75 SPG & Type 75 MLRS and when you hit the light turret roof or the slightly angled side tanks of top tier just explode.

A VIDAR shot me and hit the tip of my (american) T34's barrel. It overpressured my crew and the barrel wasn't even over the chassis at all
