Dating apps, do not keep people single people stay single, and choose to be on dating apps. You have to find somebody that aligns with your wants and needs.

Perspective:

Dating apps aren’t perfect, but i’m a Trans-girl, so apps are a far safer option for meeting open minded men than real life is.

They are just so freakin awkward. It starts with all the messaging, then you finally meet up, then the “3rd date rule” where you feel forced to make a decision. And you don’t know what to do in between. They are the most unnatural thing ever. I prefer to meet someone in real life first to get to know them a little first with no pressure, and then naturally transition into dating. Though much easier said then done when you get older lol

Ive been on dating apps for a couple years and only get one match a month - if I’m lucky… that’s after swiping for a few hours each day.. they are soul crushing for me so Im now in detox to get self esteem back…

im above average looking guy, tall, retired in my 30s, but Im also more fussy than your average guy.. this makes it incredibly hard.. i get heaps more interest in real life but i really do prefer apps because I’m introverted and find in some ways they’re much more comfortable for me than going out but as a guy who isn’t swiping right on every second picture they’re just a horrible experience..

I've tried them before back in the day. & from what I got from Dating apps it's not impossible to meet someone there. But The only way they can get better is is suddenly there were double the population of women out there.

No matter the app. There will always be 2-3x as many guys then girls on them, Then the rest are fake profiles, scams. So girls have more options by default but being bombarded with them.

Best way to actually find a girl is just get out there. Local bar or club. You won't find Anyone out there trying to spam you into meeting up for money or sketchy links or pictures.

The best reason for why dating apps suck was briefly mentioned at the beginning. They’re for-profit. The faster you find a match, the lower their profit.

You missed a big portion of the match algorithm: money. The apps are designed to show new profiles to a large audience, driving up their pool of likes/matches and hooking you into that matching app. Over time, the apps quit showing the profile to as many potential matches unless that profile is a paying monthly subscriber or they pay for the temporary “boost” to put their profile on top of the stack for others who are swiping.

Unfortunately the apps know who is willing to spend money to get their profile seen, and they use that info to their advantage. They’ll throttle you down so you pay for the boost.

it works like this, once you find the one, you stop using the app.
and the owners of the app don't want you to stop using it because you are paying for that use.

that's a contradiction. the user and owner of the app have contradictory goals.

Women complain about being overwhelmed while men are in the digital equivalent of a desert paying exorbitant amounts of money to be shown to just one single match who then doesn't respond despite them spending days on taking pictures (which is unnatural for nearly all men!!!), coming up with jokes for their own bio, then making up icebreakers based on either no bio at all, an instagram handle that leads to a private profile with 0 posts and 10000 followers or an unhinged misandrist rant. If the match does reply it's only with two words, after 3-4 more rounds of well thought out puns from the guy and one worders from the girl she completely stops replying. If a date happens a man pays like 100$ for a single chance of talking in real life because they've been on not just that app, but all of them for over 5 years and this is still their first date from dating apps! Whether there will be a second date or not is then mainly not affected by the app, but the girl won't really pay attention or put in any effort, because she knows she can just get another date with someone hotter at any time.
Then there are the exceptions, which are seemingly talkative online, get a date arranged quick, then on the date are constantly on their phone. That's the unlucky version, because it's always her using the guy for a free meal. At least in the first situation there was a small intent at connection and it didn't work, whereas this should be punishable by law.
There are lucky areas with great meeting opportunities and women who hate dating apps, but there are also lower income ones where "just going out" is not advisable and there are also ones where most women would rather be on dating apps to chase the five 9-10/10 guys in their area who ignore them than show any effort in real life to the potentual thousands of 5-7/10 ones that already give them attention.
Women who were willing to show up for the positive change online dating culture needs are already in relationships

I noticed that the dating scene is a lot more focused on short term dating, hookups, and polamory. And while I'm all for sexual freedom, I notice that this isn't what a lot of people are actually happy with, but they do it anyway because that's becoming the norm now. And dating apps only have more money to make with the dating scene to be like this. If they helped you find your forever partner? Well they've just lost two customers for life.

The problem with dating apps (namely Tinder) is not choice paralysis. It's the fact that there are one thousand guys for each woman. She has a lot of options to choose from, and might experience choice paralysis, but for the guy (read, me) the problem is that no girl ever matches with me, because they are looking for the top guy.

Problem's that if you allow to see what the other looks like, they'll be making their decisions solely on looks but if they don't, they might meet the other IRL and find them unattractive. The compatibility with the personality is the sole consideration when it comes to the friendships, but when it comes to sexual relationships with people, then whether or not they find each other physically attractive is an actual important component of whether there'll be any interest there or not. Unless they're a person that doesn't care about physical appearance whatsoever. I don't think that most people can decide that, or help whether it matters to them or not, they just kind of are the way they are...

Dating preferences aren't harmful biases, they're personal preferences, they aren't harming anyone because nobody is entitled to be your significant other, it is a privilege not a right. It isn't the same as hiring somebody for a job at a company, it is perfectly okay to date anyone that wants to date you that you want or not date whomever you want for any reason whatsoever or even for no reason at all because while relationships come with obligations, you are not obligated to start a sexual relationship in the first place, only after you commence a sexual relationship do obligations follow no obligations exist before that particular point...
