The Creators of D&D borrowed a lot from different mythologies across the world. Including Norse.
ОтветитьJust watching these, and you have the yugioh intro, but you've never said " dimension the dice"
ОтветитьI'm not sure wether it's due to Mapo playing on the medium difficulty, or wether he's just that much better at BG3 than me, but playing for this long without long resting and with 1 short rest remaining, is just mad lol
ОтветитьLazel is my girl I love her- which is why it always breaks my heart when spoilers:

She gets kidnapped in act 3- every fking time I know there are different kidnapees depending on your play through but 3 time round and it’s always lazel for me 🥲
Poor Wyll, his biggest character flaw is not being a giant hot barbarian.
ОтветитьI forget who but there was a gamer that beat the game using the salami is his only weapon
ОтветитьThe first time I heard Karlach say "Cut the crap, Anders!" I just kept thinking about Dragon Age 2 😆😆😆
PS. I hadn't thought of the connections to Norse mythology, but now that you mention it! Feel like a bad Norse (Swede) for overlooking that 😅😅
Imagine if every game had dialogue written like this. Hard to read or hear anything else after this
ОтветитьSelene Chest Cheeeeeeeser!!! No cheating!😂
ОтветитьIs it just me or does Wyll actually look way better now?? I think he looks better haha!
ОтветитьFavourite comment "now I am just Solas but short." 😄
ОтветитьI gotta wonder what you have against herbs!? Lmao You almost never pick them up and potion making seriously helps your game.
ОтветитьOof, some of these spell choices mate😅
ОтветитьAs soon as I met Karlach, I was willing to do whatever she asked of me.
ОтветитьShadowheart is not that tough a nut to crack. 2 simple rules I followed on my first play through. Respect her privacy and beleive in her. she will open up when she is ready.

. Withers comes to your camp even if you don't wake him up.
Awesome episode! I'm glad you are enjoying the games and companions so much though I'm hoping in future episodes you long rest more so you get more story bits, shadowheart should of had something to say about wyll becoming a devil but her thing overrode it, it can make things feel a bit disjointed in my experience. Loving everything else though!
Ответитьoh my god that toll key is just laying out in the open this whole time??? I've spent 650 hours in this game and i've always had to bomb that door open.
ОтветитьLike the poetry/story you got going there :D nice commentary, the first time I paid so much attention to Wyll's transformation.
ОтветитьYou didn't mess up with Shadowheart. Clerics choose their Domain (subclass) when they choose to be a cleric. So she was a trickery domain cleric when you met her. Yes you can change it later
ОтветитьIt can mess up your game if you don't long rest enough. The cutscenes get backed up and it can damage your game especially if you go to a different region before getting caught up. You should probably do a few long rests back to back to catch up. If you do a partial rest it won't waste your camp supplies but still counts as a long rest for the purpose of getting the cutscenes.
Ответитьso glad you’re liking both lae’zel and karlach!! i was over here with my fingers crossed that you’d romance one of them lmaooo but time will tell 👀
ОтветитьI don't know if the Dark Alliance games count as canon. This game does spin off directly from BG1&2 tho
ОтветитьMapo, both Selunê and Shar are Godesses of the Moon, but Selunê is a "Old Godmother and Benefactor" and Shar is "Goth Edgy Teen that keeps quoting Nietzsche".
Their dynamic is quite interesting and relevant, so I won't spoil your fun, just keep the info above in your head and that will help you figure who is who.
I've honestly never seen anybody fail so many times to get shadowheart to open up. 😂
Ответитьohhhh no the brain rot, as soon as you said "this looks very nice" to the new clothing color i thought you'd follow with "very demure" 😭😂
ОтветитьYes, you fail your religion check. Selune and Shar are sisters, and they are both moon goddesses and goths. But...
Selune is the goddess of the light of the moon, of mystery and the occult, prophecy and lycanthropey, navigation and illusion, inspiration and insanity. She's a perky, quirky goth, and sort of benevolent, in an "I didn't know it would explode" kind of way.
Shar is the goddess of the dark of the moon, the goddess of secrets and silence, loss and forgetting, nihilism and denial. She's a dark, brooding goth, dressed all in black, and is malevolent, in a "I'd kill you all if it was worth the effort. But it isn't. Nothing is" way.
Selune dances naked in the moonlight. Shar lies in bed with the doors locked and the curtains drawn.
comments are a bit annoying about the long rest stuff. You all must be new to the channel he does ''blind'' playthrough. real blind letsplays are rare and what I enjoy the most about his channel please you need to chill a bit on the backseating.
Ответитьbro your kinda dope. my kinda gamer. subbbbb
ОтветитьI knew you'd like Karlach. ;)
ОтветитьYou have to talk to companions and long rest often to progress the story and progress relationships.
ОтветитьThis is definitely the type of game that you'll find tons of new stuff on a second playthru or a third even, I never found that spiders nest for example
ОтветитьI'm here for the Wyll/Karlach enemies to lovers fic written by Mapo
ОтветитьBg1 and bg2 are directly connected as you carry over the same main character. Bg3 is more like a spin-off with some references. Dark alliance is only called baldurs gate because it takes place in that city.
ОтветитьI love your gameplay! Hope u keep having fun with the game
ОтветитьKarlach is my dream girl💘
ОтветитьFor what it's worth I think you're doing amazing! Some playthroughs of the game can be really painful to watch I'm not gonna lie, but yours has been really fun and pleasant so far. Exactly as I was expecting to honest lol
ОтветитьMaybe you know this by now, but camp scenes work on a sort of "queue". Every time a "camp scene-triggering event" happens during normal gameplay, that scene gets added to a queue. When you long rest, the game will play one event from said queue, but it isn't exactly random or sorted by the order in which the events were added, it seems that each event has a "priority rating" that determines which one will play out. I believe Wyll's scene with Mizora, for example, is set to always trigger in the next long rest after you deal with Karlach (and since some trigger as soon as you go into night time, while others trigger after you lay down to rest, sometimes you can get more than one scene per night).
Most of these events aren't missable (specially because some, as you saw, are very important to the story), the next time you long rest, the game will simply play out a different scene already in the queue. However, some of them are specific to the certain moments in the main story, so progressing too far without long resting may lock you out of seeing those.
This doesn't mean that you should be long resting every 5 minutes, of course, but it could be a good idea to long rest a little more often =] . There's more than enough camp supplies for it, and even if you don't feel like spending them (or don't need to), remember that you can do a partial rest without consuming any (partial rests only restore up to half of your hp and resources, of course, but they don't stop camp scenes from happening, so it's okay to do a partial rest just for the sake of the story.
Anyway, sorry if any of this sounds like backseating, just a generalized tip that I myself wish I had known when I first played haha, I did way too few camp rests on my first playthrough until I realized I missed stuff :b
Also, you commented on character reactions, and yeah, those don't have any sort of queue, party members will simply comment on the latest event, so they override any previous comment that didn't trigger, unfortunately
You don’t have much dialogues in a camp because you haven’t done more long rests and didn’t interact to the characters. I think you’ve missed some interesting things with Astarion, Shadowheart and Gale. In my new play through I go to camp as often as possible. I have tried even to go there alone, before talking even to Shadowheart and there was a special cutscene. Since you are so interested in a thorough playthrough, you better go to camp often and click on the characters even if they don’t have a special sign, and not only in the camp.
ОтветитьPlaying this game with a controller seems crazy to me hah.
ОтветитьTo answer your question at the beginning:
Yes, this game does heavily reference lore, to make it appealing to the older fans, while not making it mandatory to know things. It just enhances the experience, to see for example heroes of the old games come back in BG3.
As for Zevlors mention of the fall of Elturel, that is actually if I'm not mistaken the main plot of "Descent into Avernus", one of the official Books/Modules for DnD 5e Tabletop.
Since the Sword Coast (or rather The Forgotten Realms) have been the "default world" for a good 30-40 years now, almost every god, city, faction has had probably multiple games, modules, or books written about them.
Karachi, Astarion and Gale are my faves. You will get more Astarion dialogue once he reveals he’s a vampire.
ОтветитьI'm really enjoying your playthrough.
ОтветитьIt is a bit weird that last night Wyll says he never regretted making his pact, but the next day, when you suggest he get out of the pact, he "approves" and says the idea has kept him awake for many nights. That is a big contradiction.
ОтветитьI agree, they did a really good job with the "pet scratch" animation.
ОтветитьI wonder if there will be a mod to autocast your ritual spells each morning when you wake up so you don't forget. That would be a huge quality of life improvement.
ОтветитьI think you got the disadvantage with Shadowheart because you screwed up the dialogue with her earlier. This is a really exciting part of this playthrough because this is the first time I have seen someone fail to get Shadowheart's secret from her. But that is what makes this game so great. You can play it dozens of times, and watch dozen's of let's plays, and still find new things and new situations.
